**UPDATES**

 

Armed Robbery | Drug Related *ADDITIONAL ARREST – On May 29th, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify and arrest the second suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 8100 block of Portwood Tn in Manassas on February 27th. The arrest was made without incident.

Arrested on May 25th:

Shelton Nehemiah BRIGGS, 19, of 9337 King George Dr in Manassas

Charged with robbery

Court date set for July 10, 2013, held WITHOUT bond

 

Armed Robbery | Drug Related [Previously Released] – On February 27th at 10:53AM, police responded to the 8100 block of Portwood Tn in Manassas (20109) for a robbery. The victim, a 20 year old man of Centreville, reported to police that he was in the area above when two unknown men approached him. One of the men displayed a knife and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was utilized in the search for the suspects. While speaking with the victim, officers discovered marijuana. Further investigation revealed that the victim came to the area above for a drug transaction which led to the robbery. Marijuana, packaging material, and other evidence were found on the victim, now the accused, HUYNH. Following the investigation the accused was arrested. On May 25th, detectives from the Robbery Unit arrested one of the suspects involved in the robbery. The investigation revealed the accused, NORRIS, is the suspect that displayed the knife during the robbery.

 

**INCIDENTS**

 

Commercial Burglary – On May 29th at 5:29AM, police responded to the PWC Landfill located at 14811 Dumfries Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:30PM on May 28th and 5:25AM on May 29th. Entry appeared to have been gained into one of the buildings on the property through a rear sliding glass window which had been broken out. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On May 28th at 2:32PM, police responded to the All American Carpet and Rugs located at 1414 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on May 24th and 10:00AM on May 28th. Entry appeared to have been made into the business through a glass window which had been broken out. Multiple carpets, valued around $53,000, were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On May 28th at 4:48AM, police responded to Charlie’s Barber Shop located at 315 Potomac Ave in the Town of Quantico (22134) for a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on May 25th and 4:45Am on May 28th. Entry appeared to have been made through a window which had been broken out. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Felony Child Neglect – On May 29th at 8:28AM, police responded to the 9500 block of Covington Pl in Manassas (20109) for a found child. Caller reported to police that he observed an unknown child, unsupervised, near his residence. The caller contacted police and officers identified the child as a 2 year old girl. As officers were speaking to the caller and the child, a vehicle occupied by the accused pulled up and approached the officers. The investigation revealed that the accused, the child’s father, had fallen asleep, during which time, the child left the residence. The child was unsupervised for about an hour. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Arrested on May 29th:

James Richard DANIEL, 31, of the 9400 block of Abington Ct in Manassas

Charged with child neglect and cruelty & injuries to children

Court date and bond information unavailable
