Last week the Honorable Gerald E. Connolly publically recognized the 53 volunteers of the Prince William County Animal Shelter from the floor of the House of Representatives. Representative Connolly stated, “As part of the Prince William County Police Department’s Animal Control Bureau, the Animal Shelter aims to provide permanent safe and clean homes for animals through adoption. The Prince William County Animal Shelter strives to educate the public about the overpopulation of companion animals and the need to provide them with a safe and secure living environment. The volunteers help promote pet adoption by loving and caring families.”

At the Animal Shelter on Saturday, June 7th, Vicki Smith was recognized by the Animal Control Bureau for 14 years of volunteer service, Bill Graham for 10 years, Greg Kellenberger for his dedication and support in voluntarily maintaining volunteer equipment, providing animal foster care, leading animal socialization walks, and assisting with animal behavior assessments for adoption.
