**UPDATES**
Commercial Burglaries *ARRESTS – On August 19th, detectives from the Property Crimes Unit identified and obtained charges on three suspects involved in two separate burglaries at Anne Moncure Park located at 4450 Waterway Dr in Dumfries in May of 2014. The three suspects were identified as juveniles and connected to both incidents. The investigation revealed that a total of over $3,300 in damages and lost goods were caused by these suspects. Following the investigation, all three suspects were arrested.

All three were charged with 2 counts of burglary and 1 count of grand larceny

Commercial Burglary [Previously Released] – On May 18th at 1:44PM, officers responded to Anne Moncure Park located at 4450 Waterway Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a destruction of property. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred 4:30PM on May 17th and 12:30PM on May 18th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the concessions building on the property through a door which was pried open. A safe, containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, was reported missing. A similar incident was reported on May 4th, see below.
Commercial Burglary [Previously Released] – On May 4th at 11:04AM, officers responded to Anne Moncure Park located at 4450 Waterway Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00PM on May 3rd and 10:30AM on May 4th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the concessions building on the property through a door which was pried open. Candy, total value around $50, was reported missing.
**INCIDENTS**
Strong Armed Robbery – On August 20th at 12:04AM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 9600 block of Magenta St in Manassas (20110). The victim, an 18 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he made arrangements to meet up with a known acquaintance. The victim was reportedly picked up in a vehicle in the 10900 block of Pennycress St by the acquaintance and another unknown male. Once in the vehicle, the victim was driven to a secluded area on Magenta St where the driver stopped. At that point, two other unknown men approached the vehicle and opened the victim’s door where they proceeded to assault and rob him. The men took the victim’s shoes, wallet, cell phone and watch before fleeing the area. The victim was taken to an area hospital where police were contacted. This incident was not random. The investigation continues.
**ARRESTS**
Aggravated Sexual Battery – On August 18th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 7400 block of Albemarle Dr in Manassas (20111) in June of 2014. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 6 year old girl, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance. The victim disclosed the incident to a family friend who contacted police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on August 19th.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 19th at 8:54PM, officers responded to the Food Lion located at 5227 Waterway Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a pan handling complaint. Officers arrived in the area and located two individuals described by the caller. One of the individuals, later identified as the accused, provided officers with false identification. Once the correct identification was determined, officers learned that the accused was wanted. Officers attempted to then arrest the accused, at which point, he actively resisted. Officers were eventually able to detain the accused and place him in handcuffs. As the accused was being placed into a cruiser, he struck one of the officers, causing the officer to fall back and lose grip on the accused. The accused then fled into a nearby wooded area where officers lost sight of him. A police K-9 was used to search for the accused who was eventually located by the K-9 hiding under a deck on Benecia Ln. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Narcotics Investigation – On August 19th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded a narcotics investigation involving the distribution of suspected illegal drugs with the execution of a search warrant at 15358 Barnabas Trl in Woodbridge (22193). As a result of the search, suspected marijuana, cocaine and evidence of distribution were recovered. Following the investigation, the below arrests were made without incident.
