Daily Incident Report for Friday, April 10, 2015

**INCIDENTS**

 

Malicious Wounding – On April 9th at 12:45PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of Teasel Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 3 year old boy, was cut to his neck by the accused, a family member, during an unprovoked assault. The aunt of the victim contacted police and was able to remove the child from the home to awaiting officers. The child was transported to an area hospital with significant, but non-life threatening injuries. The accused remained inside the home and eventually surrendered to police a short time later without further incident. The accused was transported to an area facility for a mental health evaluation. Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused who remains hospitalized.

Strong Armed Robbery – On April 9th at 10:00AM, officers received a report of a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the parking lot of the CVS located at 4338 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) on April 8th around 8:00PM. The victim, a 39 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she had just parked in the parking lot and was attempting to get her children out of the vehicle when she was approached from behind and assaulted by an unknown woman. During the encounter, two other unknown women joined in the assault. One of the women took money from the victim’s pockets before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was only able to describe the assailants as black females, in their early 20’s with medium builds.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On April 10th at 12:54AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of Heatherbrook Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that an unknown man rang his doorbell and identified himself as a neighbor. The man told the homeowner that he observed someone attempting to enter the residence through a side window. The suspect allegedly fled the area when once he was seen. Officers observed damage to the side window screen consistent with someone attempting to make entry into the residence. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. No description of the suspect was provided to the homeowner or police. Officer’s attempted to make contact at the neighbor’s residence; however, it determined that the individual did not live there. Officers were unable to locate this individual.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On April 7th at 9:55PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of Madeira Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic assault. As officers were responding, they were flagged down by an individual later identified as the victim, a 23 year old woman of Woodbridge, in the area of Antietam Rd and Burgundy Pl. The victim reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation at the residence. During the encounter, the victim left the home and was followed by the accused. The altercation escalated physically when the accused knocked the victim to the ground. Once on the ground, the accused proceeded to place his forearm against the victim’s throat. The victim was eventually able to get away from the accused with the help of bystanders and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Derrick Jerome ALLEN, 28, of the 2800 block of Madeira Ct in Woodbridge

Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery

Court date: pending | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

 

Assault & Battery on a Corrections Officer – On April 9th at 12:43PM, officers responded to the Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the accused became disorderly with a corrections officer inside the facility. During the encounter, the accused pushed one of the officers and attempted to strike another in the face. The accused was eventually detained without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.

Andrew Joseph MAYNARD, 23, of 130 Denver Dr in Manassas Park

Charged with assault & battery on a corrections officer

Court date: June 1, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

 

Falsely Summoning the Police – On April 9th at 4:51PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11900 block of Parkgate Dr in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a shots fired call. The caller, later identified as the accused, reported to police that someone was firing a gun inside the residence. Multiple officers responded to a blocked off the area. Contact was made inside to a female resident who exited the home with her child. Once outside, it was determined that no shots were fired. The accused was further determined to be wanted in Prince William County on unrelated charges.  The accused eventually exited the home and was arrested without further incident. Officers confirmed that no shooting took place.

Brandon Matthew WOOD, 38, of 12008 Aden Rd in Nokesville

Charged with falsely summoning the police

Court date: May 11, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond
