Prince William County Police Daily Report for July 11, 2013

**UPDATES**

 

Commercial Burglaries *ARREST – On July 9th at 2:52AM, police responded to PJ’s Variety Store located at 19122 Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) for an alarm. Officers determined that an unknown person attempted to enter the business, however, no entry was made and no property was reported missing. This was the second time this particular business was targeted. Based off of surveillance video, patrol officers were able to develop a suspect, later identified as the accused. The accused was located at his residence which is nearby the offense location. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested in connection to this case and the burglary at the same business on June 23rd. Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit were further able to link the accused to a burglary which was reported to have occurred at the Tobacco Zone on June 24th.

Robert Darryl WILLIAMS, 48, of 19050 Fuller Heights Rd #219 in Triangle

Charged with [in connection to the June 24th incident] burglary and destruction of property

Charged with [in connection to the June 23rd incident] burglary and grand larceny

Commercial Burglary [Previously Released] – On June 24th at 12:11AM, police responded to the Tobacco Zone located at 14836 Build America Dr in Woodbridge (22191) for an alarm. Officers arrived at the business and discovered the front glass window area had sustained extensive damage from a vehicle striking the front of the store. The suspect(s) then gained entry and fled through a rear door. No property was immediately reported as missing. A witnessed observed a black vehicle, possibly a Volvo, leaving the area at the time of the incident.

 

Commercial Burglary [Previously Released] – On June 23rd at 1:13AM, police responded to PJ’s Variety Store located at 19122 Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) for an alarm. Officers arrived at the business and discovered the front glass door had been broken out. The suspect took 20 cartons of cigarettes, valued around $870, were reported missing. Surveillance footage showed the suspect enters the store and flee in a vehicle.

 

**INCIDENTS**

 

Armed Robbery – On July 11th at 1:55AM, police responded to the area of Devils Reach Rd and Lakewood Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. The victim, a 24 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking home when she was approached by four unknown men. One of the men displayed a handgun, while another displayed an electronic restraint device (ERD). The men demanded property and took the victim’s cell phone, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, and other property. The suspects dispersed as a vehicle passed by.  Neither the handgun nor the ERD was discharged during the incident. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used in the search for the suspects.

Suspect Descriptions:

4 black males –

1st male [armed with a handgun] was between 23 & 25 years of age, 5’11”, 160lbs with a thin build

Last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt – no further description

 

2nd male [armed with an ERD] was between 20 & 22 years of age, 5’9”, 150lbs with a thin build and short hair

Last seen wearing a black t-shirt – no further description

 

3rd male was between 20 & 25 years of age, 5’10”, 160lbs with a thin build

Last seen wearing a dark colored t-shirt and jeans

 

4th male was between 20 & 25 years of age with a thin build

No clothing description

 

Residential Burglary – On July 10th at 10:33AM, police responded to the 12100 block of Coloriver Rd in Manassas (20122) for an alarm. Officers arrived at the residence and discovered a rear door on a deck had been forced open. The residence was checked, no suspects were located. No property was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Malicious Wounding | Felony Hit & Run – On July 10th at 6:06PM, police responded to the 900 block of Annapolis Way in Woodbridge (22191) for an assault. The victim, a 46 year old man of Reston, reported to police that he was with a local bail bonds business and had recently bonded the accused out of jail on an unrelated charge from an earlier incident (see release below). The victim located the accused in a motel parking lot in the above area and attempted to take him into custody on additional charges in another jurisdiction. During the encounter, the accused rammed the victim’s vehicle multiple times. In the process, the accused struck an unoccupied, unrelated vehicle which was also parked in the lot. The vehicle belonging to the accused was subsequently disabled and the accused then fled on foot into nearby woods. The victim was able to catch up to the accused, at which point, the accused grabbed a stick and struck the victim multiple times to his head, knocking him to the ground. A police K-9 was called in to search for the accused. As the K-9 and his handler entered the woods, police K-9 “Titan” was bitten by a suspected rabid groundhog. The K-9 handler was able to shoot and kill the animal to stop the attack. The K-9 and handler were able to continue the search after receiving information that the accused was hiding near the I-95 overpass and Occoquan Rd. The K-9 located the accused, at that point, he jumped the jersey barrier and proceeded into traffic on northbound I-95. In the process of fleeing, the accused was struck by a passing motorist and subsequently detained. The accused was transported to an area hospital for precautionary reasons and has since been discharged and processed at the Adult Detention Center. The police K-9 received minor injuries and is being monitored. No other injuries were reported. The suspected rabid groundhog has been collected and set off for testing.

Reginald Charles DAVIS, 22, of 2016 Horizon Ct #104 in Woodbridge

Charged with malicious woundinghit & run resulting in injury, and hit & run resulting in property damage

Court date: August 28, 2013 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

 

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 10th at 12:12AM police responded to the 2000 block of Horizon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a suicidal subject. Caller reported to police that the accused was making threats to harm himself. Officers located the accused at his residence and attempted to make contact. During the encounter, the accused be agitated and slammed his door, striking one of the officers to his leg. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody. Minor injuries were reported.
