Captain William M. Cox, Sr.
Captain Cox has more than 32 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 1980, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, Captain Cox served as a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division; a patrol supervisor; a special operations supervisor; assistant to the Chief of Police; and a special events commander. His most recent assignment was Special Operations Bureau duty commander.
Captain Cox holds a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice from George Mason University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Police Executive Leadership School (PELS), and the Leadership in Changing Times program at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. He is assigned as director of the Prince William County Criminal Justice Academy.
Captain Richard C. Cundiff
Captain Cundiff has more than 25 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 1987, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, Captain Cundiff served as a detective in the Special Problems Unit, the Vice & Narcotics Bureau, General Investigations and the Violent Crimes Unit. He later acted in a supervisory capacity in Patrol, Internal Affairs and the Special Investigations Bureau within the Criminal Investigations Division. He was CID deputy commander and, most recently, the Eastern District deputy commander.
Captain Cundiff holds a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice from George Mason University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Police Executive Leadership School (PELS), the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service (LEAD), , and the Leadership in Changing Times program at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. He is currently serving as Evening Operations commander for the Western District.
Captain Bryan W. Simms
Captain Simms has more than 24 years of law enforcement experience, serving first as a police officer with the Arlington County (Va.) police department. In 1989, he began his career with the Prince William County Police Department as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, Captain Simms has served as a CRO in the Juvenile Bureau, and as a detective in the Major Crimes Unit. He later was a supervisor in the Traffic and Crash Investigation Units of the Special Operations Bureau, Operations, and in Internal Affairs, as well as deputy commander in the Support Services Division. His most recent assignment was deputy commander in the Criminal Investigations Division. He is a graduate of the West Point Leadership Course.
Captain Simms holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Minnesota State University at Mankato. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is currently serving as Special Operations commander.
Lieutenant Neil L. Miller
Lieutenant Miller has 14 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 1999, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, Lieutenant Miller has served as a detective in the Burglary and Violent Crimes units, as a patrol sergeant, and as a supervisory sergeant in the Crime Analysis and Violent Crimes units, and as a supervisory first sergeant in Patrol. His most recent assignment was in Internal Affairs. Additionally, he is a graduate of the West Point Leadership Course.
Lieutenant Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in management from National-Louis University. He is currently serving as the supervising Lieutenant for F Squad-East.
Lieutenant Trevin R. Sorby
Lieutenant Sorby has more than 24 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 1989, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, Lieutenant Sorby has served as a Firearms Training Unit instructor and a Recruit Training instructor, and he has served in a supervisory capacity in Firearms Training and in Patrol. Lieutenant Sorby served in the Special Operations Bureau and was a supervisor of the Gang Unit. His most recent assignment was as a supervisor in Special Operations. Additionally, he served on the SWAT Team, including a term as deputy team commander and training coordinator. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service (LEAD) and the West Point Leadership Course.
Lieutenant Sorby attended Northern Virginia Community College. He is currently serving as the supervising Lieutenant for C Squad-East.
First Sergeant Mark A. Depatie
First Sergeant Depatie has more than 10 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 2003, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, First Sergeant Depatie has served as the Eastern District Station sergeant. His most recent assignment was as a Patrol supervisor. Additionally, he is a graduate of the West Point Leadership Course.
First Sergeant Depatie is a graduate of Bolingbrook High School in Illinois. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for F Squad-East.
First Sergeant Roland J. Mulligan
First Sergeant Mulligan has more than nine years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 2004, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, First Sergeant Mulligan has served as a detective in the Special Problems Unit and as a Patrol supervisor. His most recent assignment was as a supervisor in the Property Crimes Unit.
First Sergeant Mulligan holds a master’s degree in national security affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School and a bachelor’s degree in marine transportation from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for A Squad-East.
First Sergeant Christopher L. Rice
First Sergeant Rice has nearly nine years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 2004, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, First Sergeant Rice has served as a detective in the Crimes Against Children and Narcotics units. His most recent assignment was as a Patrol supervisor. Additionally, he is a graduate of the West Point Leadership Course.
First Sergeant Rice holds an associate’s degree in administration of justice from Northern Virginia Community College and is enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at Park University. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for B Squad-East.
Sergeant Scott L. Biggar
Sergeant Biggar has more than 15 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 1998, he began his career and has served as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division.
Sergeant Biggar is a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School in New Hampshire. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for E Squad-East.
Sergeant John J. Christopher, III
Sergeant Christopher has nearly 11 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. He was hired in 2002, and began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career Sergeant Christopher has served as an officer with the Bike Unit and a detective with the Major Crimes and Narcotics units. He also served full time as an officer on the ATF Joint Task Force. His most recent assignment was as a detective with the Narcotics Unit.
Sergeant Christopher holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics from Radford University. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for F Squad-East.
Sergeant Darren M. Hadro
Sergeant Hadro has nearly nine years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 2004, he began his career and serves as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. Sergeant Hadro also serves on the Civil Disturbance Unit.
Sergeant Hadro is working toward a bachelor’s degree in sociology at George Mason University. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for C Squad-West.
Sergeant James Robertson
Sergeant Robertson has more than eight years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 2005, he began his career and serves as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division.
Sergeant Robertson holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a bachelor’s degree from Mount Saint Mary College. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for D Squad-Central.
Sergeant Ryan J. Whaley
Sergeant Whaley has more than 12 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 2001, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, Sergeant Whaley has worked as a detective in the Crimes Against Children and Property Crimes units. His most recent assignment was as a detective in the Digital Forensics Unit.
Sergeant Whaley holds a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice from George Mason University. He is currently serving as a Supervisor for the Special Victims Unit.
Sergeant Jarrod G. Yost
Sergeant Yost has nearly 10 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Prince William County Police Department. Hired in 2003, he began his career as a patrol officer assigned to the Operations Division. During his career, Sergeant Yost has served as a K-9 officer in the Special Operations Bureau. His most recent assignment was as an investigator in the Crash Investigations Unit. Additionally, he has served on the Civil Disturbance Unit and the Search and Rescue Unit.
Sergeant Yost holds a bachelor’s degree in photography from Shepherd College. He is currently serving as a Patrol Supervisor for F Squad-West.
Telecommunicator II Courtney Hammond Grand
Courtney Grand started with Public Safety Communications in September 2012 and is a police dispatcher.
Ms. Grand holds an associate’s degree in administration of justice from Northern Virginia Community College.
Management Information Systems Coordinator David P. Jetkiewicz
David Jetkiewicz started with the Police Department as a technical services analyst in November 2010. Prior to his employment with the County, he was director of the Professional Services Division of Guidance Software. He also held positions with the U.S. Department of the Treasury and White House Communications.
Mr. Jetkiewicz is a graduate of the University of Maryland-Munich (Germany) Campus, and the Gateway Technical Institute. Additionally, he is a graduate of the West Point Leadership Course.
Technical Services Analyst I Pamela J. McGhee
Pamela McGhee started with the Police Department as a technical services analyst in 2013. Prior to her employment with the Department, she worked as an administrative support coordinator II for the Office of Public Safety Communications and the PWC Department of Social Services. She also worked as an administrative support coordinator I for the PWC Group Home for Boys and as an assistant to the Occoquan District Supervisor, among other positions.
Ms. McGhee is a graduate of Annandale High School in Fairfax County.
Assistant Shift Supervisor Katherine D. McIlvoy
Katherine McIlvoy started with Public Safety Communications in 2001. Prior to her employment with the County she was a volunteer firefighter with the Dale City Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, among other positions.
Ms. McIlvoy holds an associate’s degree in social sciences from Northern Virginia Community College. She also holds an EMT-Paramedic certification from George Washington University.
Telecommunicator II Brian Mundon
Brian Mundon started with Public Safety Communications in April 2012 and is a fire dispatcher.
Mr. Mundon is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School in Fairfax County.
Technical Services Analyst I Sofia Muneer
Sofia Muneer started with the Police Department as a law enforcement database technician in 2012. Prior to her employment with the Department, she worked as an administrative support assistant III for the Prince William County Health Department.
Ms. Muneer holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Saint Leo University.
