Daily Incident Report for Wednesday December 3, 2014

**INCIDENTS**

 

Crash – Fatality – On December 2nd at 12:24PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was making a left turn from Chesapeake Dr onto southbound Jefferson Davis Hwy when the vehicle crossed paths with a 2010 Yamaha T-Max motorcycle which was traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy. The operator of the motorcycle and a passenger were transported to area hospitals where the operator died as a result of his injuries. The passenger of the motorcycle also sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Silverado pickup truck was not injured. Due to the impact, the motorcycle was initially believed to have been a moped but was determined to be a motorcycle during the investigation. Speed, alcohol and drug use are not factors in the collision. Both occupants of the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Charges are pending at this time. The investigation continues.

Identified:

The operator of the 2010 Yamaha T-Max motorcycle was identified as Justin Casey FELCH, 26, of Woodbridge

 

The passenger of the 2010 Yamaha T-Max motorcycle was identified as a 31 year old man of Dumfries

 

The driver of the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was identified as a 57 year old man of Germantown, MD

 

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On December 2nd at 2:39PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart located at 17041 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shoplifting. Officers arrived at the business and were informed by an employee with loss prevention that an unknown man entered the store, took various items and attempted to leave the store without paying. As the employee went to detain the man, the man fled on foot. As the suspect was fleeing, he stopped and fired several BB rounds towards the employee. Several vehicles and the building were stuck, no injuries or significant damage were reported. The suspect continue to flee towards Wayside Dr. Officers searched the area and did not locate the suspect.

Suspect Description:

Black male, between 18 & 25 years of age, 5’9”, 150lbs with a medium build, short black hair and beard

Last seen wearing a black fleece style jacket and gray sweatpants

 

Residential Burglary – On December 2nd at 8:42PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 16900 block of Porter’s Inn Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:30PM and 8:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. Entry is believed to have been made into the residence through an unsecured window. Multiple gaming consoles with games and an iPad were reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Armed Robbery – On December 2nd at 9:37PM, officers responded to the 4200 block of Hemmingway Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 37 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was getting out of his vehicle when he was approached by two unknown men. One of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victim. The men took the victim’s wallet and an undisclosed amount of money before both men fled on foot towards Hoffman Dr. No injuries were reported. During the investigation, detectives were able to identify the possible suspects as residents on Hoffman Dr. Both suspects were located and matched the descriptions provided by the victim. Following the investigation, both men were arrested.

Gary Joseph DOUGLAS, 20, of 4126 Hoffman Dr in Woodbridge

Charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Court date: January 14, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

 

Joe Reginald FAUCETT, 18, of 14709 Edgewater Dr in Woodbridge

Charged with robbery

Court date: January 14, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond
