**UPDATES**

 

Armed Robbery *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On August 30th, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify one of the two suspects involved in the armed robbery which was reported to have occurred at the Sunoco Service Station located at 1260 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge on August 9th. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the suspect, identified as the accused, Edward RUSSELL.  The investigation still continues into the identity of the second suspect and the arrest of Edward RUSSELL.

 Described as a black male, 6’1”, 140lbs with a thin build

 Wanted for robbery and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony

  

Armed Robbery [Previously Released]On August 9th at 7:12PM, police responded to the Sunoco Service Station located at 1260 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that two unknown men entered the business. One of the men approached the counter to make a purchase. When the employee opened to the cash drawer, the suspect displayed a handgun and removed the drawer. Both men then fled the store to awaiting vehicle being driven by a third unknown person. No injuries were reported.

  

**INCIDENTS**

  

Residential Burglary – On September 1st at 10:02PM, police responded to the 14200 block of Birchdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00AM on August 27th and 9:20PM on September 1st. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. A gaming console with related games and other DVD’s, total value around $980, were reported missing.

  

Attempted Residential Burglary – On August 30th at 11:06PM, police responded to the 8000 block of Lantern Ct in Manassas (20109) for an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 12:00PM on August 25th and 10:15PM on August 30th, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the residence through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

  

**ARRESTS**

  

Armed Robbery | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On September 1st at 7:25PM, police responded to the 15200 block of Bannon Way in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victims, a 37 year old man and a 15 year old male – both of Woodbridge, reported to police that they had made arrangements to meet an unknown man in the area above to buy a phone. Once there, the suspect got into the backseat of the victim’s vehicle. During the encounter, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money. A physical altercation ensued and, at one point, the suspect pointed the handgun towards the victim and pulled the trigger. The gun did not fire and both victims were able to get away and contact police. The suspect fled on foot with the victim’s car keys and a cell phone chip. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used in the search for the suspect. Detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify the suspect involved in this incident. The suspect, identified as the accused, was taken into custody without incident at his address on Lacrosse Ct. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence, also without incident.

Malicious Wounding – On August 29th at 2:50PM, police responded to the Adult Detention Center [ADC] located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) for an assault involving an ADC officer. The officer reported to police that an inmate, identified as the accused, was being combative and that he and other staff were attempting to restrain him. During the encounter the accused bit the officer to his thumb causing a deep laceration. The accused was eventually detained and the officer was treated for the injury sustained during the altercation. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On August 30th at 8:02PM, police responded to the 10900 block of Coverstone Dr in Manassas (20109) for an assault. The victim, a 31 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed a knife and held it against the victim’s neck. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

**INCIDENTS**

Strong Armed Robbery – On September 2nd at 9:42PM, police responded to the Cracker Barrel located at 10801 Battleview Pkwy (20109) for a robbery. The victim, a 45 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he made arrangements online with an unknown woman in the above area to sell football tickets. Once there, he met with the woman and then approached by four unknown men and another unknown woman. The men assaulted the victim and took his wallet and tickets before getting into a black vehicle, possibly a Honda, and leaving the area. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was only able to describe four of the parties involved.

Suspect Descriptions:

2 black females—

1st female was between 40 & 45 years of age, 5’2”, 135lbs with a medium build, long black hair, and brown eyes

Last seen wearing orange colored scrubs

 

2nd female was between 30 & 40 years of age with a medium build, long black hair, and brown eyes

Last seen wearing a purple dress

 

2 black males, both between 30 & 35 years of age—

1st male was 6’5”, 400lbs with a heavy build, shaved head, and brown eyes

Last seen wearing a white t-shirt and green shorts

 

2nd male was described as having a medium build, shoulder length, black dreadlocks, and brown eyes

 

Strangulation | Assault & Battery – On September 3rd at 6:00PM, police responded to the 8000 block of Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) for an assault. The victim, a 30 year old woman of Winchester, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were in a vehicle in the above area when a verbal altercation ensued. During the accused choked the victim and struck to her face. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused.

**ARRESTS**

 

Child Pornography – On September 4th, members of the Northern Virginia-DC Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force continued an investigation into child pornography with the execution of a search warrant at 74 Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22026). The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cybertip in regard to online communication involving the accused and child pornography.  The investigation revealed that the accused was in possession of child pornography via a social media account. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident. The investigation continues.

**UPDATES**

Burglary while Armed *ADDITIONAL ARRESTS – On September 4th, detectives from the Robbery Unit continued an investigation and were able to identify and arrest four other men involved in the burglary which was reported to have occurred in the 14200 block of Princedale Dr in Woodbridge on July 28th. During the investigation, detectives were also able to connect the suspects to an unreported burglary at the same address from July 12th in which several suspects forcibly entered the residence and encountered the homeowner in her bedroom. The suspects then took money and other items from the home before they zip tied the homeowner’s wrists and ankles and fled the scene. Following the investigation the men were arrested. A fifth suspect, LATIMER, was previously arrested on July 28th.

Burglary while Armed [Previously Released] On July 28th at 3:08AM, police responded to the 14200 block of Princedale Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary in progress. The victim, a 24 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that three unknown, masked men forced their way into his home. Once inside, the men proceeded up the stairs to the victim’s bedroom. At that point, a confrontation ensued between the victim and the men. One of the men was armed with a shotgun which he fired towards the victim. The victim returned fire with his own handgun and stuck the suspect before the men fled the home. No injuries were reported by the victim and no property was reported missing. Later that day, on July 28th, detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau were able to identify the armed suspect involved in this incident as the accused after he went to hospital in D.C. for medical treatment for a gunshot injury to his forearm. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained against the accused who remains in D.C. awaiting extradition back to Virginia. This incident was not random and the investigation continues to identity the two remaining suspects.

**ARRESTS**

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On September 5th at 1:50AM, police responded to the 1300 block of Ironwood Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a domestic. The victim, a 25 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, began to choke her. Another resident of the home was able to intervene and separate the accused and the victim. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Assault & Battery on a Firefighter – On September 2nd at 10:03PM, police responded to the 12700 block of Hunterbrook Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to assist the Department of Fire and Rescue on a medical related call. The investigation revealed that while members of the fire department were tending to the patient, another family member, identified as the accused, became upset. During the encounter, the accused pushed one of the fire fighters and, at one point, grabbed his arm. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

**INCIDENTS**

Crash – Fatality – On September 5th at 1:45PM, police responded to the area of Golansky Blvd and Post Office Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2002 Toyota Camry disregarded a posted stop sign on Post Office Rd and proceeded onto Golansky Blvd where he collided with the driver, and only occupant, of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of both vehicles and a sole passenger inside the Camry were transported to area hospitals. The driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. The driver of the Silverado and the passenger of the Camry sustained non-life threatening injuries. All involved parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. Speed and alcohol are not factors in this crash.

Identified:

The driver of the Toyota Camry was identified as Kermit Adam GUEISS, 88, of Woodbridge

The passenger of the Toyota Camry was identified as a 46 year old woman of Woodbridge

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was identified as a 21 year old man of Woodbridge

Commercial Burglary – On September 5th at 10:35AM, police responded to Playtime Pools located at 13624 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodridge (22191) for a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on September 4th and 10:00AM on September 5th. There were no signs of forced entry into the business. Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked side door. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and a water pump, valued around $350, were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Street Crimes Investigation – On September 5th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded a two day investigation which began after the police department received numerous complaints of men soliciting sexual acts inside Locust Shade Park located in Triangle (22172). During the investigation, undercover detectives made contact with suspects already inside the park and via online websites where the sexual acts were solicited by the suspects. Incident locations varied inside the park to include various parking lots, vehicles, bathrooms, and trails inside the park. Following the investigation, the below arrests were made without incident.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Crash – Fatality – On September 8th at 5:57AM, police responded to the 4100 block of Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) for a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver, and only occupant, of a 1999 Mercedes C230 was traveling westbound on Dale Blvd when the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a median, and then a tree. The driver was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and speed and alcohol use appear to be factors.

The driver of the Mercedes C230 was identified as Jalal Tasawar BASHIRUDDIN, 23, of Woodbridge

   

Crash – Fatality – On September 6th at 2:55PM, police responded to the 14000 block of Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2008 Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on Spriggs Rd when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a bicyclist on the sidewalk in front of Hylton High School. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still under investigation. No charges have been placed at this time.

The bicyclist has been identified as Joseph James CALLAHAN Jr., 66, of Woodbridge         

 

The driver of the Ford Mustang was identified as a 17 year old female of Manassas 

  

Burglary with Intent to Defile – On September 8th at 3:17AM, police responded to the 1400 block of Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that her daughter, a 12 year old girl, was asleep inside her bedroom when she awoke to unknown man grabbing her through an open window. The victim screamed and the suspect fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no property was missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. The victim was unable to describe the suspect other than noting he was a black male. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery – On September 6th at 2:18PM, police responded to the 7-11 located at 12520 Gordon Blvd in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that two unknown men entered the store and approached the counter to make a purchase. Once the employee opened the cash drawer, one of the men reached over the counter and grabbed the drawer while the other suspect displayed a handgun. The suspects fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. No injuries were reported.

2 black males, both reported to be between 20 & 25 years of age—

 

1st male was 5’6”, 150lbs with a medium build, medium complexion, short black hair, and brown eyes

Last seen wearing a dark thin jacket, blue jeans, dark colored hat and dark colored shoes

 

2nd male was 5’9”, 150lbs with a thin build, medium complexion, short black hair, and brown eyes

Last seen wearing a orange and black hat, dark camo pants, thin long sleeve jacket, and white shoes

 

Armed Robbery – On September 7th at 5:31PM, police responded to the 13400 block of Minnieville Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, a 43 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he encountered two unknown men. The victim engaged in a conversation with the men. During the encounter, one of the men grabbed the victim’s cell phone while the other suspect displayed a handgun. The victim was able to get away from the men and contact police. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.

Suspect Descriptions:

2 black males, both reported to be between 17 & 18 years of age—

1st male was 5’11” with a medium build

Last seen wearing a white shirt

 

2nd male was 5’6” with a heavy build

Last seen wearing a black shirt with a skull on the back

 

Strong Armed Robbery – On September 8th at 7:28PM, police responded to the area of Minnieville Rd and Bobcat Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, a 25 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking on the sidewalk in the area above when a black Ford pickup truck pulled into a parking lot in front of the victim and blocked his path. Two unknown men then got out of the vehicle and approached the victim leading to a verbal altercation. At one point, the men assaulted the victim and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from his pockets. Following the assault, the men got back into the vehicle and fled the area. Minor injuries were reported.

Suspect Descriptions:

2 white males—

1st male was between 45 & 50 years of age, 5’8”, 250lbs with a heavy build, bald head, and a goatee

2nd male was between 178 & 25 years of age with a thin build and shoulder length hair tied in a ponytail

Obtaining Money by False Pretenses [Scam Alert] – On September 8th at 9:45PM, police responded to the 1900 block of Ridge Rd in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a scam. The victim, a 69 year old man of Haymarket, reported to police that he received a phone call from someone claiming to be “Lieutenant Mike Stevens” with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect informed the victim that he was caught on a red light camera committing a traffic violation and had missed his court date. The suspect further told the victim that a warrant had subsequently been issued for his arrest. The suspect informed the victim that he could have the warrant dropped if he obtained a prepaid card, valued over $300, and provide him with the card information. The victim complied with the suspect and gave the card information over the phone. This investigation continues.

 

The Prince William County Police Department would like to advise residents that any legitimate government agency or private business will never ask for a pre-paid or green dot card to pay for anything including outstanding bills or fines. If you suspect that you are being scammed, we ask that verify the caller’s claim before sending any money or contact the police directly.  

 

Residential Burglary – On September 8th at 2:29PM, police responded to the 3300 block of Bronson Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00AM and 2:30PM. Entry was made into the residence through the front door which was forced open. Two computers and clothing, total value around $2,800, was reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On September 8th at 2:20AM, police responded to the Dollar Buys located at 14647 Jefferson Davis Why in Woodbridge (22191) for an alarm. Officers arrived at the business and located an unsecured rear door. There were no signs of forced entry. A police K-9 was used to check the interior of the business. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 7th at 10:36PM, police responded to the 5200 block of Midway Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:30AM and 10:30PM. Entry was made into the residence through a rear door which was found damaged. No property was reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 6th at 11:09PM, police responded to the 3000 block of Seminole Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 11:09PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear window. Two TV’s and two laptops, total value around $2,200, was reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On September 6th at 11:19AM, police responded to Fuentes Mini-Grill located at 13325 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00PM on September 4th and 1:30PM on September 5th. There were no signs of forced entry into the business. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear window. No property was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Carnal Knowledge | Indecent Liberties – On September 6th, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau concluded a sexual assault investigation  which was reported to have occurred in the 3200 block of John Robinson Ln in Dumfries (22026) between 1999 and 2002. The investigation revealed that the victim was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by the accused, a known acquaintance, at his residence during the time frame above. The investigation further revealed that the accused would provide alcohol to the victim prior to the incidents. The victim, a male, resided in Dumfries and was between 14 and 17 years of age at the time of the offenses. Detectives learned of these assaults while continuing a previous investigation involving the accused. Following the investigation, the accused was charged in reference to this case.

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On September 7th at 7:59AM, responded to the 15100 block of Doe Ridge Rd in Haymarket (20169) for a barricade incident. Officers made contact with the victim, a 59 year old woman, who reported to police that she was with a case worker for the Wythe County Department of Social Services and that she went to a home in the above area to remove a 16 year old from foster care. While attempting to make contact with the child at a rear basement door, the victim discovered what appeared to be “booby traps” leading to the rear of the residence. A tripwire and several nails were discovered. The nails were placed so that they were pointed upwards. As the victim was walking up to the residence, she stepped on one of the nails. The nail did penetrate the victim’s shoe but not her skin. No injuries were reported. It was further discovered that the juvenile had barricaded himself in his basement level bedroom. This information led to the activation of the department’s SWAT team and substantial police response. After several hours of attempting to make contact with the juvenile, he finally surrendered to police around 7:30PM. Following the investigation, the juvenile was arrested.

**ARRESTS**   

Strong Armed Robbery | Destruction of Property – On September 5th at 11:25AM, police responded to the Tackett’s Mill Car Wash located at 12831 Harbor Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. The business manager reported to police that the accused, a former employee, broke several windows to the business with a metal bar. The accused then confronted the manager with the metal bar in hand, at which point, the manager gave the accused an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. The accused then left the area on foot. No injuries were reported. The accused was later located and arrested without further incident. The damage to the windows was estimated around $1,600.

Narcotics Investigation – On July 31st, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 17100 block of Old Stage Rd in Dumfries (22025). The investigation revealed that the driver, identified as the accused, was attempting to sell prescription medications. As a result of the investigation Percocet, Oxycontin, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. Following the investigation, detectives arrested the accused without incident. This arrest was previously held for investigative purposes. Narcotics Investigation – On July 31st, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded a narcotics investigation involving the distribution of marijuana with the execution of a search warrant at 1211 Fox Run Pl in Woodbridge (22191). As a result of the search, evidence of distribution and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. Following the investigation, detectives arrested the accused without incident. **INCIDENTS**

 

Strong Armed Robbery – On September 10th at 10:42PM, police responded to the area of Emberdale Dr and Ensbrook Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, a 30 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above with a friend, when they were approached by three unknown men. The men assaulted the victim and took his wallet before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was only able to describe two of the assailants.

Suspect Descriptions:

2 black males, both reported to be between 25 & 30 years of age—

1st male was 6’5”, 200lbs with a medium build, short black hair, brown eyes, and a mustache

Residential Burglary – On September 10th at 4:00PM, police responded to the 8500 block of Stokely Dr in Manassas (20111) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM on September 2nd and 2:00PM on September 10th. Entry was made into the residence through the front door which was found damaged. No property was reported missing.  

 

Residential Burglary – On September 10th at 3:12PM, police responded to the 18400 block of Woodland Dr in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:30AM and 2:50PM. Entry into the residence was made through a rear door which was forced open. A safe, containing miscellaneous items, was reported missing.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Armed Robbery – On September 10th at 8:37AM, police responded to the Courtyard Marriot located at 10701 Battleview Pkwy in Manassas (20109) for a robbery which was reported to have occurred in one of the rooms. The victims, a 19 year old woman and a 25 year old man – both of Woodbridge, reported to police that they were inside their hotel room when an unknown woman knocked on their door. When the victims answered the door, the woman displayed a knife and forced her way inside the room. Once inside, two other unknown men also entered the room. At that point, both men displayed handguns and bound the male victim’s hands and feet. The suspects took two cell phones, a laptop, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victims before fleeing the room. The suspects were last seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the area. The female victim was not bound and was able to get help from the front desk who contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. This incident is not random. The investigation continues.

Black female, between 19 & 20 years of age, 6’0’ with a thin build, dark complexion, and shoulder length hair tied in a ponytail

Brandishing a Machete | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On September 11th at 7:31PM, police responded to the 7500 block of Bosbury Ct in Manassas (20111) for a fight.  The victim, a 29 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he and a male acquaintance got into a verbal argument which escalated. During the encounter, the suspect pulled out a machete and started to chase him.  The victim was able to out run the suspect and contact police. The suspect fled the scene. No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 11th at 8:55PM, police responded to the 14800 block of Alabama Ave in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:15AM and 4:00PM.  Entry was made into the home through a rear door which had been pried open.  A TV, valued around $400, was reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 11th at 6:28PM, police responded to the 14700 block of Barksdale St in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 5:00PM.  Entry was made into the home through a rear door which was forced open.  Gaming consoles with accessories, jewelry, and miscellaneous items of clothing, valued around $2,700, were reported missing. 

 

Residential Burglary – On September 11th at 9:00AM, police responded to the 8100 block of Blandsford Dr in Manassas (20111) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between September 10th at 8:50PM and September 11th 6:50AM.  There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear window.  A TV, valued around $300, was reported missing. 

 

Commercial Burglary – On September 11th at 6:10AM, police responded to the Yorkshire Service Center at 7522 Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) for a burglary.  The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between September 10th at 9:00PM and September 11th at 6:00AM.  Entry was made into the business through a side window which was forced open.  A laptop and 200 cartons of cigarettes, valued at around $15,000, in addition to, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing. 

 

Commercial Burglary – On September 11th at 4:59AM, police responded to Gainesville Cleaners at 14662 Lee Hwy in Gainesville (20169) for a burglary.  The business owner reported to police that he was inside the cleaners when he heard the sound of glass breaking. When the owner checked the business, he discovered the front glass door was broken out and that the cash register was missing. During the investigation, officers discovered that a neighboring business, Eden Nails located at 14666 Lee Hwy, had also been burglarized.  That business owner also reported that the front glass door was broken out and the cash register was missing.

**INCIDENTS**

Commercial Burglary – On September 13th at 4:16AM, a Prince William County police officer was conducting a business check when he observed the front glass door was broken out at the Tobacco Time located at 2898 Garber Way in Woodbridge (22192). The investigation revealed that the burglary occurred around 3:44AM. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and cigarettes were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglaries – On September 13th at 4:00AM, a Prince William County police officer was conducting a business check when he observed the font glass door was broken out at the D’Vine Unisex Barber located at 17080 Jefferson Davis Hwy and at the neighboring business, Angels Nails located at 17092 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026). The investigation revealed that the burglaries occurred sometime between 10:00PM on September 12th and 3:15AM on September 13th. In both incidents, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglaries – On September 13th at 3:15AM, police responded to Plantinillos Grocery and Jewelry located at 14342 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for an alarm. Officers arrived at the business and discovered the front glass door had been damaged. During a canvass, officers further discovered that a neighboring business, the Latin Beauty Salon located at 14334 Jefferson Davis Hwy, was also burglarized. In this incident, entry was also made into the business through the front glass door which was broken out. In both incidents, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

 

Armed Robbery – On September 12th at 7:09AM, police responded to Featherstone Plz located at 14621 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. The victim, a 20 year man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was asleep inside a vehicle parked in the area above when he awoke to an unknown man trying to steal his mother’s purse. The man had opened the car door and was reaching into the backseat when the victim awoke. When the man observed the victim was awake, he threatened the victim, implying that he had a weapon. The man took the purse and fled the area in a vehicle. The victim followed the suspect to the area of Walnut St then contacted police. Trash collectors located the stolen purse in the area of Cottonwood Ct and called police. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the area of Ironwood St where the suspect was located and identified as the accused. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. The investigation revealed that following the robbery, the accused used a credit card from the stolen purse in order to withdraw an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from an area ATM.

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On September 13th, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify the suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 18100 block of Kilmer Ln in Triangle on August 13th. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained against the suspect, identified as the accused below.

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On August 13th at 10:39PM, police responded to the 18100 block of Kilmer Ln in Triangle (22172) for an attempted robbery. The victim, a 22 year old man of Stafford, reported to police that he was making a pizza delivery in the above area when he was approached by an unknown man while standing near his vehicle. The man assaulted the victim which led to a physical altercation between the two men. Two officers, who in the area on an unrelated call, witnessed the physical fight, and as they got closer, the suspect fled on foot to a nearby wooded area. The victim sustained minor injuries. No property or money was taken. A police K-9 was used in the search for the suspect.

Carjacking | Armed Robbery – On September 15th at 5:59PM, police responded to the dead end of Soldiers Ridge Cl in Manassas (20109) for a robbery.  The victims, a 23 year old man, a 20 year old man, and a 22 year old man – all of Front Royal, reported to police that they made arrangements to meet with a known acquaintance in the area above. The victims parked and exited their vehicle to speak to the acquaintance and a second man. During the encounter, the suspects displayed handguns and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, a cell phone, and other items before fleeing the area in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was later located on Keara Ct unoccupied. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. This incident is not random. Investigation continues.

 

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery | Assault by Mob – On September 13th at 11:11PM, police responded to the 1200 block of Easy St in Woodbridge (22191) for an assault. The victim, a 23 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by a group of unknown men. The men assaulted the victim, knocking him to the ground. Once on the ground, the suspects went through his pockets and demanded money. A passing vehicle caused the group to disperse. No property was taken. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was unable to describe the assailants.

 

Commercial Burglary – On September 16th at 3:49AM, police responded to the Target located at 4310 Fortuna Center Pl in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00PM on September 15th and 3:38AM on September 16th. Entry was made into the store through the front glass door which was broken out. Multiple iPads and iPods were believed to be missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 14th at 10:50PM, police responded to the 8100 block of Pointer Ln in Manassas (20109) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:30PM and 10:20PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 14th at 12:21PM, police responded to the 13400 block of Victory Gallop Way in Gainesville (20155) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between an unknown time on September 12th and 10:00AM on September 13th. Entry was made into an enclosed porch through a screen door which was cut. Golf clubs, valued around $135, were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 13th at 10:48PM, police responded to the 3100 block of Calloway Ct in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:45AM and 10:48PM. Entry was made into the residence through the front door which was found damaged. A TV, laptop, and other electronics of unknown value were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 13th at 3:41PM, police responded to the 14800 block of Alabama Ave in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:15AM and 3:40PM. Entry was made into the residence through a basement window which was broken out. A TV, valued around $1,000, was reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 15th at 4:46PM, police responded to the 8900 block of Westchester Dr in Manassas (20112) for an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the home alarm was activated around 3:15AM. Upon inspecting the window later in the day, the homeowner discovered that the window had been pushed in. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

Malicious Wounding – On September 13th at 11:44PM, police responded to the 7-Market located at 1551 Featherstone Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a disorderly call. An employee, a 38 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that the accused entered the store and approached the counter. The employee and the accused became involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused displayed a knife and began slashing towards the victim. The victim was struck and sustained minor injuries. The accused was detained by a responding officer. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Strangulation – On September 16th at 1:20AM, police responded to the 7400 block of Rokeby Dr in Manassas (20109) for an assault. The victim, a 31 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused put his hands around the victim’s neck and began to choke her. The victim was able to push the accused and get free. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On September 13th at 9:22PM, police responded to the 3600 block of Golf Side Cir in Woodbridge (22192) for a domestic incident. The victim, a 29 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation. During the encounter, the accused forced the victim to a bedroom in the home where he assaulted her and refused to let her leave. Another acquaintance to the victim was able to get into the apartment after hearing the victim scream. After a brief encounter, the accused left the residence and fled the area. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained against the accused. The accused was later arrested on September 14th without incident.

Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On September 14th at 5:25PM, police responded to the 12200 block of Granada Way in Woodbridge (22192) for a disorderly call. Caller reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, was under the influence and acting out of control. Officers arrived and made contact with the accused. One of the officers attempted to arrest the accused, at which point, he grabbed the officer’s arm and attempted to break free. The accused also kicked the officer, striking him to the leg. No injuries were reported. Officers eventually detained the accused without further incident.

Strong Armed Robbery – On September 16th at 12:00PM, police responded to the BB&T Bank located at 7801 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) for a robbery. The victim, a 51 year old man of Stephens City, reported to police that he had just left the bank after cashing a check when he was approached from behind by an unknown man in the parking lot. During a confrontation, the suspect attempted to pepper spray the victim to his face but missed. The suspect then knocked the victim to the ground and took his backpack containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area on a bicycle. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 16th at 8:10AM, police responded to the 3300 block of Dry Powder Cir in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she was asleep inside and awoke to an unknown man cutting the screen to her bedroom window. At that point, the homeowner opened the blinds covering the window and the suspect fled. No entry was made into the residence. A police K-9 was called to search for the suspect.

**ARRESTS**

 

Malicious Wounding | Abduction – On September 16th at 4:36PM, police responded to the 1200 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) for a domestic dispute. The victim, a 58 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times to her face. At one point, the accused used physical force to prevent the victim from leaving the residence to get help. Eventually the victim was able to break free of the recused and flee the residence. The victim was able to flag down a neighbor who then contacted police. The victim sustained significant, but non-life threatening, injuries to her face and was treated at an area hospital. The accused fled the area prior to police arrival but was located and arrested later that evening.

The victim, a 19 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and two other friends were in the backyard of his residence when two unknown men approached. The men entered the backyard and began to speak to them. At one point, one of the men displayed a handgun and demanded property from the victim and his friends. The armed suspect then ordered the victim inside the home where he took additional property. Following the encounter, both suspects fled on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.

A gaming console and games, total valued around $370, were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On September 17th at 7:43PM, police responded to an apartment located in the 15700 block of Tassleford Ln in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:30PM on September 14th and 6:30PM on September 17th. Entry was made into the residence through an open window after an exterior screen was cut and removed. A laptop, jewelry, and sunglasses, total value around $2,600, in addition to, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 17th at 5:11PM, police responded to an apartment located in the 14700 block of Big Crest Ln in Woodbridge (22191) for an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 12:30PM and 11:40PM, an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the residence through the front door which was found damaged. **INCIDENTS**

 

Joint Death Investigation | Fire related – On September 19th at 4:52AM, police responded to the 8400 block of Tackhouse Lp in Gainesville (20155) to assist the Department of Fire and Rescue with a house fire. There was one confirmed fatality as a result of the fire. The victim has been identified as an adult male. No other injuries were reported and no foul play is suspected at this point in the investigation. This is currently a joint investigation with the Fire Marshal’s Office looking into the cause of the fire and the police department investigating the death. Armed Robbery – On September 18th at 5:23PM, police responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 1700 block of Horner Rd in Woodbridge on September 14th around 1:30AM. The victim, a 20 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by a black SUV. A passenger exited the vehicle and approached the victim. At that point, the suspect struck the victim to his face. The suspect then displayed a handgun and took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before getting back in the vehicle and leaving the area. Minor injuries were reported. The driver never exited the vehicle.

Strong Armed Robbery – On September 18th at 7:00PM, police responded to the area of Mapledale Ave and Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, a 14 year old male of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was riding his bicycle in the area above when he was approached by an unknown male, possibly a juvenile. The suspect pushed the victim off of his bike and took his shoes before fleeing on foot into a nearby wooded area. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Suspect Description:

Hispanic male, between 15 & 17 years of age, 5’6”, 180lbs with a medium build, short brown hair, and brown eyes

Last seen wearing a black & white striped shirt, khakis pants, black socks, no shoes, and was carrying an iPod with red earphones

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 18th at 3:00PM, police responded to a residence located in the 18300 block of Cabin Rd in Triangle (22172) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he was on an upper floor of his residence when he heard his doorbell ring. Once at the door, the homeowner observed two unknown men run to the rear of his residence. At that point, the homeowner heard a loud noise coming from a rear door. It appeared that the men attempted to enter his residence by kicking the rear door. The men fled after being observed by the homeowner. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. Area schools were notified of the incident and took necessary precautions.

Suspect Descriptions:

2 black males, both reported to be between 20 & 25 years of age, 5’11”-6’0”, 150-175lbs with thin builds and black hair

One of the suspects was last seen wearing a red jacket and the other a black & white jacket

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 18th at 10:36AM, police responded to a residence located in the 16700 block of Flotilla Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary which was reported to have occurred around 11:40PM the night prior. The homeowner reported to police that she was asleep inside her bedroom when she heard a lower level window open. No suspect(s) were seen. The homeowner reported the incident to police later in the day. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 19th at 2:27PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3400 block of Beale Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary in progress.  The homeowner reported to police that she was inside her residence when she observed an unknown man open the sliding glass door of the residence.  The man allegedly stepped into the residence, but fled after being observed by the homeowner. No contact was made with the homeowner and no items were reported as missing.

Commercial Burglary – On September 19th at 9:30AM, police responded to AT&T located at 13261 Worth Avenue in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00PM on September 18th and 8:00AM on September 19th.  Entry appeared to have been made by breaking the glass on the front door of the business.  Cell phones, valued around $8,800, were reported as missing.

Crash – Fatality *ARREST – On October 28th, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit charged the driver of the 2005 Hyundai Tucson involved in the fatal crash reported in the 14500 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge on August 15th.

Crash – Fatality [Previously Released] On August 15th at 6:08PM, police responded to Featherstone Sq located at 14565 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash.  The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2005 Hyundai Tucson, while traveling eastbound through the parking lot of Featherstone Square, made a left turn into the path of a 2012 Chongqig Renegade Moped.  The driver of the moped was unable to stop and ultimately collided with the Hyundai.  The driver of the moped was flown to an area hospital where he died from his injuries later in the evening.

Identified:

The driver of the 2012 Chongqig Renegade Moped, the deceased, was identified as Ray A. DAUGHERTY, 53, of Woodbridge

Armed Robbery | Malicious Wounding – On November 1st at 10:15PM, police responded to the 1800 block of Bel Air Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 48 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he encountered two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men struck the victim in the face with a beer bottle. The men took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before fleeing the area on foot. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On November 1st at 9:43PM, police responded to the area of the Lake Ridge Marina located at 12350 Cotton Mill Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call. Caller reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the area above. Officers checked the area and located several shell casings. No suspects were located and no property damage or injuries were reported.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 2nd at 1:19AM, police responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of Seminole Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00AM on October 31st and 12:00AM on November 1st. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. A cell phone and iPad, total value around $1,000, were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On October 30th at 7:22AM, police responded to a residence located in the 15000 block of Bridgeport Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on October 29th and 3:00AM on October 30th. Entry was made into the home through a basement door which was forced open. No property was reported missing however items in the residence were misplaced.

Armed Robbery – On November 4th at 8:55PM, police responded to the Subway located at 13850 Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. Attempted Residential Burglary – On October 31st at 1:11PM, police responded to a residence located in the 6600 block of Anne Marie Ln in Manassas (20112) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 7:30AM on October 29th and 7:30AM on October 31st, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the home through a rear sliding glass door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

 

  

**ARRESTS**

 

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 2nd at 11:11PM, a Prince William County police officer was on patrol in the Iron Gate Community of Manassas (20109) when he encountered the accused in the 7900 block of Community Dr. During the encounter the officer determined that the accused, a juvenile, was in possession and under the influence of alcohol and attempted to arrest him. At that point, the accused actively resisted and kicked one of the officer’s in the leg. The accused was eventually detained without further incident. No injuries were reported.

Grand Larceny | Obtaining Money by False Pretenses – On October 30th at 5:49PM, police responded to the First Church of the Nazarene located at 14001 Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a larceny. Church staff reported to police that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown person(s) removed six exterior HVAC systems from the property. The systems had a total value of around $48,000. Surveillance footage was reviewed and showed a dark colored minivan on the property shortly after midnight. The next day, on October 31st, police responded to the 18300 block of Quantico Gateway Dr in Triangle (22172) to investigate another reported larceny involving the removal of exterior HVAC units. The caller reported to police that sometime between 6:30PM on October 30th and 10:00AM on October 31st, an unknown person(s) stole two HVAC systems, total value around $14,000. Later that day, detectives from the Property Crimes Unit followed up on a tip which led them to a residence located in the 3600 block of Freemont Pl in Woodbridge. Once there, detectives located the van matching that seen during the previous incident, as well as, several disassembled parts to multiple HVAC units. Detectives obtained a search warrant and upon execution, located further evidence connecting the below suspects to these incidents. Following the investigation, the below suspects were arrested.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Abduction | Residential Burglary – On November 5th at 10:43PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3800 block of Fortuna Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The victim, a 14 year old boy of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was inside his residence when someone knocked on the door. Upon answering, two men forcibly entered the home. Once inside, the men tied up the victim and put him in a bathroom. The men then took multiple small electronics and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area, possibly in a vehicle. Detectives from the Robbery Unit are investigating this incident which, at this time, is not believed to be random. The investigation continues.

2 light skinned black males, both reported to be between 18 & 20 years of age—

1st male was 5’1”, 180lbs with a medium build, short black hair, brown eyes, and a goatee

Hit & Run | Fly Out – On November 5th at 6:43PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 8200 block of Rainwater Cir in Manassas (20111) to investigate a hit and run crash. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 5 year old boy, had just been taken out of a vehicle by his mother when he saw another family member across the street. At that point, the victim ran out into the street and crossed paths with the driver of a van. The van struck the victim before fleeing the area. The victim was flown to an area hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery. The driver of the van was not seen by the victim or any witnesses.

Suspect Vehicle: 

A white Ford E350 series commercial style van with a sliding door on the passenger side, a dent on the front left bumper, and a ladder rack on top

 

Shooting at an Occupied Dwelling – On November 5th at 4:55PM, police responded to a residence located in the 15000 block of Danehurst Cl in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police that between 6:30AM and 6:30PM, an unknown person(s) fired a projectile towards her garage door. The projectile could not be identified but did create two small holes in the door. No one was home at the time of the incident and no injuries or other property damage were reported. 

 

Residential Burglary – On November 5th at 8:21PM, police responded to a residence located in the 4000 block of Dubois Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30PM on October 29th and 7:30PM on November 4th. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. A handgun, rifle, and ammunition, total value around $1,500, were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 5th at 4:53PM, police responded to a residence located in the 8200 block of Crackling Fire Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00PM on October 16th and 11:00PM on November 2nd. Entry appeared to have been made into an unlocked vehicle which was parked inside a garage that was left open and unsecured. A camera and vase, total value around $100, were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On November 5th at 2:30PM, police responded to Prince William Plaza II located at 14416 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on November 4th and 2:00PM on November 5th. Entry is believed to have been made into an interior office. There were no signs of forced entry into the office. Miscellaneous property was reported missing.

Felony Child Abuse – On November 5th at 7:35PM, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 12700 block of Ripple Creek Ct in Woodbridge (22192). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 4 year old boy, was struck to his face multiple times by the accused, a known acquaintance. The victim sustained swelling and other injuries and was subsequently taken to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Hit & Run | Fly Out *DRIVER IDENTIFIED – On November 6th, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit identified the driver involved in the hit & run which was reported to have occurred in the 8200 block of Rainwater Cir in Manassas on November 5th. Investigators learned that due to several factors, the driver of the vehicle was unaware that he had struck the child. The vehicle’s size, the child’s size, time of day, and what the child was wearing at the time of the crash were considered. After consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, charges will not be placed in this crash. The child has since been treated and released from the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 70 year old man of Manassas Park

A TV and 2 leaf blowers, total value around $1,600, were reported missing. 

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On November 6th at 12:36PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3100 block of Antrim Cir in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary in progress. A resident of the home reported to police that she was inside the residence when she heard someone turning the doorknob. When the resident went to the door, she observed an unknown man attempting to use a screwdriver to open the door. The resident screamed and the suspect fled on foot. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and demanded her property. After the altercation, the accused fled the area. Minor injuries were reported and no property was taken. Following the investigation, the accused, a juvenile, was arrested.

The victim, a 41 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men. The men grabbed the victim and struck him an unknown object leading to a struggle. During the altercation, the men attempted to take personal items from the victim. The victim, a 15 year old male of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the above area when he was assaulted by a group of suspects. The victim was only able to describe the assailants as black males, between 15 and 20 years of age, wearing all dark clothing.

Officers arrived at the business and discovered that a side window was broken out. Officers checked the business and no suspect(s) were located. A cash register containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect(s).
