**INCIDENTS**

 

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On November 7th at 6:26PM, police responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of Mayflower Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an domestic assault which occurred on November 1st. The victim, a 33 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, began to strangle her. The victim attempted to call the police however the accused took the victim’s phone and broke it. After the altercation, the accused left the residence. Minor injuries were reported. The victim had a protective order on file against the accused at the time of this incident. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused.

Armed Robbery – On November 9th at 12:52AM, police responded to the 10900 block of Coverstone Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 26 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men sprayed the victim with a substance believed to be pepper spray. At that point, the men knocked the victim to the ground and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported.

Suspect Description:

Hispanic male, between 19 & 25 years of age, 5’6” with a medium build, brown hair, and a goatee

Last seen wearing a white sweater, black pants, white shoes, and a blue baseball hat

Black male, between 19 & 25 years of age, 5’10” with as medium build and brown hair

Last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray pants

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On November 11th at 10:15AM, police responded to an apartment located in the 15700 block of Tassia Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that between 6:00PM on November 9th and 9:00AM on November 10th, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the apartment through the patio door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the apartment and no property was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Indecent Liberties | Forcible Sodomy – On November 8th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at Andrew Leitch Park located at 5301 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22192). The victim, a 16 year old female, reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, sexually assaulted her multiple times between July and September of 2013. The investigation revealed that the accused would take the victim to a remote area of the park where the assaults would occur. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on November 11th.

Charged with forcible sodomy and taking indecent liberties with a child

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 10th at 9:09PM, police responded to the area of Ashton Ave and Hollis Dr in Manassas (20109) for an intoxicated person. Officers arrived and located the accused lying on the grass, asleep. As the officers attempted to wake the accused he became agitated and ran into the street. At one point, the accused pushed one of the officers before being arrested. No injuries were reported. Following the incident, the accused was arrested.

Felony Eluding | Hit & Run – On November 11th at 3:07PM, a Prince William County police officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Cardinal Dr in Woodbridge (22191) for a traffic violation. The vehicle failed to stop and continued to the area of Daniel Stuart Sq where officers stopped following the vehicle. The vehicle was then seen exiting the Horner Rd commuter lot where the driver failed to stop upon exiting and struck an occupied vehicle. Officers responded to the vehicle owner’s registered address where the accused was located and arrested without further incident. The vehicle was later recovered in a nearby neighborhood. Upon search of the accused, suspect PCP was discovered. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Homicide Investigation | Murder – On November 12th at 8:14PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3400 block of Caledonia Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a suspicious death. The caller reported to police that she went to visit her friend who resided at a home in the above area. Upon arriving, the caller found the door to the residence unsecured and contacted police. Officers arrived and conducted a search of the home, finding the victim inside the residence. The victim had sustained an injury to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was reportedly last seen on Sunday, November 10th. At this time, detectives from the Homicide Unit are currently investigating this death as a murder. The investigation continues.

The victim has been identified as a 78 year old man of Woodbridge

Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery – On November 12th at 7:49PM, police responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 15300 block of Inlet Pl in Dumfries (22025) around 4:30PM. The victim, a 17 year old male of Dumfries, reported to police that he was with other known acquaintances in the above area when one of them took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from him and ran towards a vehicle. When the victim went to get the money back, the suspect struck the victim in the face, knocking him unconscious. The victim regained consciousness and was taken to area hospital where police were contacted. This incident is not random and the investigation continues.

 

Suicide Investigation – On November 12th at 4:52PM, police responded to the 11900 block of Cotton Mill Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a report of an unconscious person. The caller reported to police that he was walking his dog along a path in the above area when he found the victim unconscious. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Homicide Unit arrived and determined that the victim sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The handgun was recovered at the scene. The victim, a juvenile, was identified as a student of Prince William County Public Schools.

Residential Burglary – On November 12th at 8:21PM, police responded to a residence located in the 13900 block of Mathews Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the home reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00AM on November 5th and 6:00PM on November 9th. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

**UPDATES**

 

Homicide Investigation | Murder *VICTIM IDENTIFIED – On November 13th, detectives from the Homicide Unit released the name of the victim involved in the murder which occurred at a home in the 3400 block of Caledonia Cir in Woodbridge on November 12th. No arrest has been made. Detectives are still investigating this incident and are asking for the public’s help in providing any information which will aide in the investigation. This is Prince William County’s fifth murder of 2013.

Identified:

The victim has been identified as a Charlie Duncan ADKINS, 78, of Woodbridge

 

Homicide Investigation | Murder [Previously Released] On November 12th at 8:14PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3400 block of Caledonia Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a suspicious death. The caller reported to police that she went to visit her friend who resided at a home in the above area. Upon arriving, the caller found the door to the residence unsecured and contacted police. **INCIDENTS**

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On November 13th at 11:00AM, police responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Castille Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that while on the main level of his residence, he heard noise coming from the basement.  Upon checking the noise he saw two individuals standing outside of the sliding glass door in the basement.  The suspects fled on foot once they were seen by the homeowner.  No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

Suspect Description: 

2black males, both reported to be between 17 & 23 years of age

1st male was 5’10”, 165lbs with a medium build andshort black hair

Last seen wearing a dark coloredcoat, blue jeans, and a Redskins knit hat

 

2nd male was 5’4”, 160lbs with a medium build and short black hair

Last seen wearing a dark colored coat, blue jeans, and a dark colored beanie cap

**INCIDENTS**

 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Armed Robbery – On November 14th at 2:32PM, police responded to US 1 Tobacco located at 13434 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that two armed, masked men entered the business, approached the employees, and demanded money. During the encounter, one of the employees, a 37 year old man of Springfield, was shot in the head. The men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and cigarettes before fleeing the store, unknown if on foot or in a vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Suspect Description:

The suspects were only described as males, unknown race or age – no further description

 

Armed Robbery – On November 14th at 8:26PM, police responded to the GNC located at 4143 Cheshire Station Plz in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown armed man entered the business, approached him, and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area, possibly on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Suspect Description:

Black male, between 35 & 45 years of age, 5’8”, 160lbs with a medium build, dark complexion, shoulder length black hair, and brown eyes

Last seen wearing a black cap, possibly a wig, black scarf covering his face, black jacket, dark colored pants, boots, and gloves

 

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On November 15th at 12:55AM, police responded to the 4600 block of Eastlawn Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a call of shots fired. The caller reported to police that several gunshots were heard in the area above. A vehicle was also heard leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was never seen. No injuries or property damage were reported. Multiple shell casings were located in the street near a residence in the above area.

 

Commercial Burglary – On November 15th at 3:46AM, police responded to the Game Stop located at 14070 Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge (22193) for an alarm. Officers arrived and discovered the front glass door was broken out. Officers checked the business and did not locate a suspect(s) and a police K-9 were used in the search. Seven sets of the headphones, total value around $1,400, were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 15th at 12:05AM, police responded to a residence located in the 15000 block of Lee Hwy in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:40AM and 11:20AM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear door. A gaming console with games and equipment, total value around $400, were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 14th at 4:44PM, police responded to a residence located in the 14200 block of Mapledale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00AM and 3:00PM. Entry was made into the residence through a rear door which was forced open. A gaming console with games, a camera and lens, total value around $1,500, were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On November 14th at 12:30PM, police responded to Auto Trademark located at 7591 Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00PM on November 13th and 8:30AM on November 14th. Entry was made into the business through a rear door which was forced open. Two vehicles, one valued around $29,000 and the other valued around $35,000, were reported missing. Neither vehicle had license plates.

A black, 2009 Jeep, Grand Cherokee, SRT8, SUV

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Attempted Armed Robbery | Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony – On November 14th at 9:53PM, police responded to the 10300 block of Launch Cir in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 30 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he had confronted an unknown man who had driven his vehicle without his permission. The victim stated that he had accidently left his car keys in his vehicle which was parked on the street. A friend of the victim reportedly saw an unknown man, later identified as the accused, get out of the vehicle after he drove it through the community. Both men confronted the accused who, at one point, displayed a handgun and threatened to take the vehicle. The victim called police and the accused fled on foot. Responding officers located the accused on a nearby street where he was arrested without further incident. The gun was later determined to be a BB gun. No injuries were reported.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Crash – Fatality – On November 17th at 9:27AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Opitz Blvd and Montgomery Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that a pedestrian was crossing Opitz Blvd at the intersection with Montgomery Ave in a designated crosswalk and with a pedestrian signal indicating to cross. At the same time, the driver, and only occupant, of a 2007 Jeep Wrangler was at the same intersection attempting to make a left hand turn from Montgomery Ave onto Opitz Blvd with a solid green light. The driver of the Jeep Wrangler did not yield the right of way and proceeded to turn left, striking the pedestrian. The pedestrian, an adult woman, was transported to an area hospital where she died on November 18th as a result of her injuries sustained during the collision.  At the time of the crash, the driver of the Jeep Wrangler was cited. Additional charges are pending.

Strong Armed Robbery – On November 15th at 10:41PM, police responded to the 10000 block of Irongate Way in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 27 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by two unknown men. One of the men struck the victim, knocking him to the ground. Once on the ground, the men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim before fleeing the area on foot. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was only able to describe the assailants as black males.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 17th at 6:45PM, police responded to a residence located in the 6000 block of Lady Slipper Ln in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:45PM and 6:45PM. Entry was made into an attached garage through a door which was forced open. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 16th at 12:13AM, police responded to a residence located in the 8900 block of Burwell Rd in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00PM on November 15th and 12:01AM on November 16th. Entry was made into the home through a rear door which was forced open. Clothing items, an iPhone, tablet, and other property, total value around $8,000, was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On November 17th at 3:00AM, police responded to a residence located in the 3200 block of Berkley Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic dispute. The victim, a 33 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grab multiple knives and confronted the victim. The victim attempted to take the knives away and sustained minor cuts in the process. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

**UPDATES*

 

Crash – Fatality *ADDITIONAL CHARGE – On November 18th, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit obtained an additional charge in reference to the fatal pedestrian crash which occurred in the area of Opitz Blvd and Montgomery Ave in Woodbridge on November 17th.

Charged on November 18th:

Amanda Elisa STYLES-MAYS, 24, of 16577 Space More Cir in Woodbridge

Charged with reckless driving and a previous charge of failure to yield to a pedestrian

Court date: January 2, 2014: | Status: released on personal recognizance

 

Crash – Fatality [Previously Released] On November 17th at 9:27AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Opitz Blvd and Montgomery Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. Armed Robbery – On November 18th at 9:02PM, police responded to the GNC located at 2928 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown, masked man entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Black male, between 25 & 35 years of age, 5’8” – no further description

Armed Robbery – On November 18th at 12:06AM, police responded to the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 22 year old man of no fixed address, reported to police that he was walking through a parking lot in the above area when he encountered two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and other property before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

Suspect Descriptions:

2 black males, both reported to be between 20 & 30 years of age, between 5’10”-5’11”, around 175lbs with thin builds

One of the suspects was wearing a black knit cap, the other a gray hooded sweatshirt

 

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On November 18th at 11:13PM, police responded to the Burger King located at 7640 Linton Hall Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an attempted robbery. An employee reported to police that several occupants in a black 4-door vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen Jetta, pulled up to the drive thru window. Once there, one of the passengers covered his face and demanded money from the employee. The employee immediately closed the window and contacted police. No money was taken during the incident. The employee was unable to describe the occupants of the vehicle.

 

Commercial Burglary – On November 19th at 5:07AM, police responded to the Valero Service Station located at 13295 Trowbridge Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00AM and 5:00AM. Entry was made into the business through a rear door which was forced open. Cigarettes, valued around $125, were reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 18th at 4:51PM, police responded to a residence located in the 11500 block of Arrington Ct in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00AM on October 18th and 4:00PM on November 14th. Entry appeared to have been made into an attached garage through a side door which had been forced open. Tools, valued around $700, were reported missing. Tires to the homeowner’s vehicles were also found to have been punctured by an unknown tool.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 18th at 6:11PM, police responded to a residence located in the 15200 block of Forest Grove Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00Am and 5:30PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through a rear window which was found open. Jewelry, total value around $1,000, was reported missing.

 

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On November 18th at 9:15PM, police responded to Dr. Sours Family Dentistry located at 12606 Lake Ridge Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. An employee reported to police that she was inside the business when she heard a loud noise coming from the front door area. When the employee went to check on the noise, she saw an unknown suspect run towards Clipper Dr. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing.

Male, unknown race or age, 6’0”, 150lbs – no further description

**ARRESTS**

 

Strangulation | Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 19th at 12:30AM, police responded to the 14600 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic call. The victim, a 27 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused began to choke the victim. Officers arrived, separated the two parties, and attempted to arrest the accused. The accused resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot. Officers were able to catch up to and detain the accused, at which point, he struck one of the officers to her shoulder. Minor injuries were reported by the victim and no injuries were reported by the officer. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Crash – Fatality *CHARGE FILED – On November 15th, after an extensive investigation, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit obtained a charge against the driver in reference to the fatal pedestrian crash which occurred in the 14000 block of Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge on September 6th. The investigation revealed that texting was not a factor that led to this crash.

Crash – Fatality [Previously Released] – On September 6th at 2:55PM, police responded to the 14000 block of Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2008 Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on Spriggs Rd when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a bicyclist on the sidewalk in front of Hylton High School. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still under investigation. No charges have been placed at this time.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Armed Robbery – On November 20th at 12:39AM, police responded to the area of Telegraph Rd and Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred on November 17th at around 10:30PM. The victim, a 22 year old man of Ohio, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the man displayed a handgun and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.

Black male, unknown age, 6’0”, 220lbs – no further description

Strangulation | Abduction – On November 18th at 10:58AM, police responded to a residence located in the 16700 block of Chowning Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic incident. The victim, a 20 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused threw the victim to the floor and prevented her from leaving the residence. After a brief struggle the victim was able to break free. Later in the day, the two were involved in another altercation. During this encounter, the accused began to choke the victim. After the assault, the victim left the residence and contacted police. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused.

Residential Burglary – On November 19th at 7:34PM, police responded to a residence located in the 8100 block of Tall Timber Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:30AM and 5:33PM on November 18th. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. A gaming console with games, a watch, and other miscellaneous property, total valued around $2,000, were reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On November 19th at 12:00PM, police responded to a residence located in the 2500 block of Blue Pool Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that at around 11:00AM, he heard a noise coming from a basement level door. When the homeowner went to check on the noise, he observed an unknown man standing just outside the door. When the man saw the homeowner, he fled on foot. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On November 19th at 8:05AM, police responded to the Old Hickory Golf Course located at 11921 Chanceford Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. The manager of the business reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on November 18th and 6:00AM on November 19th. Entry was made into a golf cart room through a door which had been forced open. No property was reported missing.

Malicious Wounding – On November 20th at 2:18AM, police responded to the parking lot of Queens Gambit located at 12730 Black Forest Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a stabbing resulting from a fight. Officers arrived and located the victim, a 23 year old man of Woodbridge, suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. The investigation revealed that the victim and an unknown man were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot. The altercation escalated and travelled through the parking lot, towards the roadway before the parties were separated.   Once separated the victim realized he had been stabbed during the fight.  The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim was flown to an area hospital. Detectives were able to quickly develop a suspect in the case, identifying him as the accused. The accused was located and detained without incident at a residence on Oust Ln shortly after 8:00AM this morning

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Resisting Arrest – On November 17th at 10:41PM, police responded the 12400 block of Dillingham Sq in Woodbridge (22192) after receiving reports of a man with a gun at Brittney’s Restaurant. The caller reported to police that an unknown man was intoxicated and had brandished a firearm at bouncers inside the bar. Officers arrived at the shopping center and located the man, later identified as the accused, walking through the parking lot. Officers attempted to detain the accused, at which point, he began to flee on foot. The officers were able to catch up the accused and attempted to arrest him. During the arrest, the accused struck two of the officers. The accused was eventually detained without further incident. A police K-9 was used to search for the weapon that the accused had dropped while fleeing. The K-9 was able to locate the firearm in bushes within the shopping center. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. No injuries were reported.

The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:15AM and 11:27AM. Entry was made into the residence through a basement level window which had been broken out. **INCIDENTS**

 

Strong Armed Robbery – On November 22nd at 3:46PM, police responded to the area of Old Delaney Rd and Quate Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 14 year old male of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the area above when an unknown vehicle stopped near him. An unknown man exited the vehicle and approached the victim. During the encounter, the man forcibly took the victim’s cell phone and got back into the vehicle. The vehicle was described to be a bronze colored 4 door sedan and was occupied by two other men. No injuries were reported. The victim was only able to describe the suspects as black males, between 16 & 20 years of age.  

 

Strong Armed Robbery – On November 22nd at 3:22PM, police responded to the 14400 block of Whisperwood Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 17 year old male of Dumfries, reported to police that two males forced their way into his residence and assaulted him. During the encounter the men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim before getting into a vehicle and fleeing the area. Minor injuries were reported. The suspects were only described as a white male and black male, both between 16 & 18 years of age. At this point in the investigation, this incident does not appear to be random.

 

Residential Burglary – On November 24th at 12:00PM, police responded to a residence located in the 13800 block of Tarleton Ct in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM on November 17th and 10:00AM on November 24th. Entry was made into an attached garage through an open door. A bag containing miscellaneous property, total value around $400, was reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On November 23rd at 7:26PM, police responded to the 13400 block of Millwood Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that he was inside his home when he heard the sound of glass break. Upon checking the residence, the homeowner discovered a window was broken out and that the screen had been cut. No suspect(s) was seen and no entry was made into the home.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Cruelty or Injury to Child | Assault & Battery – On November 7th, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit began an investigation into child abuse allegations which were reported to have occurred at the Minnieland Academy at the Glen located at 4290 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22192). The investigation revealed that between January and August of 2013, two employees assaulted and abused at least three children, between the ages of 1 and 2, who were in their care at the facility. Following the investigation, detectives consulted the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and obtained charges against both employees. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending.

Taking Indecent Liberties with a Child – On November 22nd, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau began an investigation into an indecent liberties case which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 7600 block of Cass Pl in Manassas (20109) on November 16th. The victim, a 15 year old girl of Manassas, reported to police that on this date the accused, a known acquaintance, propositioned her for sex. No act took place between the victim and the accused. The victim reported the incident to her school counselor who immediately notified Child Protective Services. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Malicious Wounding | Burglary – On November 26th at 4:08AM, police responded to a residence located in the 8500 block of Somersworth Dr in Manassas (20111) in investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that an altercation had ensued between the victim, a 27 year old man of Manassas, and a known male acquaintance. The male acquaintance had forcibly entered victim’s residence to confront him about a previous incident. Following the encounter, the suspect fled the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his arm and back. At this point in the investigation, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

 

Malicious Wounding – On November 25th at 2:47PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of Forestdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a fight. The victim, a 17 year old male Woodbridge, reported to police that four men came to his residence and attempted to fight him. The confrontation moved outside and escalated. During the encounter, one of the men pulled out a knife and cut the victim multiple times. The suspects fled prior to police arrival.  The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries to his arm and face and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. At this point in the investigation, this incident does not appear to be random.

4 males – 2 were described as Hispanic and 2 were black, all between 18 & 25 years of age – no further description

The investigation revealed that on two occasions in November of 2013, the victim, a 12 year old girl of Manassas, was raped by the accused, a known acquaintance. The accused also sent the victim electronic messages to facilitate the incidents. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Armed Robbery *ARREST – During the ongoing investigation into the August 9th robbery of the Sunoco Service Station located 1260 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge, detectives were able to identify the second suspect involved in the incident. The second suspect was identified as Tyron BEST. On November 26th, both suspects involved in this case were located and arrested without incident by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force. The RUSSELL suspect was located at a residence in Washington D.C. and the BEST suspect was located at his residence in Prince Georges County, MD.

Armed Robbery – On August 9th at 7:12PM, police responded to the Sunoco Service Station located at 1260 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that two unknown men entered the business. One of the men approached the counter to make a purchase. When the employee opened to the cash drawer, the suspect displayed a handgun and removed the drawer. Both men then fled the store to awaiting vehicle being driven by a third unknown person. No injuries were reported. On August 30th, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify one of the two suspects involved in the armed robbery which was reported to have occurred at the Sunoco Service Station located at 1260 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge on August 9th. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the suspect, identified as the accused, Edward RUSSELL.  The investigation still continues into the identity of the second suspect and the arrest of Edward RUSSELL.

Residential Burglary – On November 26th at 7:52AM police responded to a residence located in the 15900 block of Canada Goose Lp in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary in progress.  The homeowner reported to police that an unknown man attempted to gain entry into his residence by breaking out a window. When the homeowner confronted the man, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded to be let into the house.  During the encounter, the homeowner retrieved his own weapon and fired a shot inside the residence.  The homeowner was able to flee the home and contact police. Officers conducted a search of the residence. The suspect was not located. The homeowner was unable to provide a suspect description to officers.  No injuries were reported. At this point in the investigation, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Residential Burglary | Narcotics Investigation – On November 29th at 11:20PM, police responded to a residence located in the 4500 block of Torrence Pl in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. A caller reported police that a ladder was laying against the rear of his neighbor’s residence. The homeowner arrived at the residence as officers were arriving. Officers checked the residence and discovered marijuana, suspected cocaine, and prescription medications. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. **INCIDENTS**

 

Crash – Fatality – On December 2nd at 5:25AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Dumfries Rd and Hoadly Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1996 Peterbilt 378 tractor trailer was stopped at a red traffic signal at the intersection in the above area. The light changed to green and the vehicle began to accelerate southbound on Dumfries Rd. The driver of a 2011 Toyota Corolla was traveling in the same lane when the vehicle struck the Peterbilt truck from behind. The driver, and only occupant, of the Toyota was flown to area hospital where he died on December 3rd. No other injuries were reported. Alcohol and drug use are not factors in this crash. The driver of the Toyota was traveling above the safe speed at the time of the collision.

The driver, the deceased, of the 2011 Toyota Corolla was identified as Donald Stephen RINKER, 57, of Strasburg

Armed Robbery – On December 2nd at 7:53PM, police responded to the GNC located at 4143 Cheshire Station Plz in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area, possibly on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

 

                Suspect Description:

 

                Black male, between 25 & 25 years of age, between 5’4”-5’5” with a medium build

 

                Last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, red gloves, and a surgical mask

 

      

 

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On December 2nd at 10:35PM, police responded to the 13600 block of Hidden Creek Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a shots fired call. A caller reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the area above. Officers responded to check the area and located shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or property damage were reported. No suspects were seen.

 

 

**ARRESTS**

 

 

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On December 2nd at 8:28PM, police responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of Winslow Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic incident. The victim, a 41 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused picked up a metal chair and struck the victim causing an injury to his head. The accused continued to assault the victim, rendering him unconscious. After the assault, the accused fled the residence. Officers set up a perimeter around the neighborhood and used a police K-9 to search for the suspect. The accused turned himself into police later that night. The victim was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 2nd at 9:40AM, police responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Castile Ct in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary in progress. A caller reported to police that three unknown men appeared to be breaking into a home located in the above area. The men were seen attempting to enter the residence through a rear sliding glass door. Officers responded to the area quickly, including an officer who was off duty in a take-home cruiser. The officers located the men who immediately fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehend two of the suspects. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. Following the investigation, both suspects were charged. The investigation continues into the identity and arrest of the remaining suspect.

Armed Robbery – On December 4th at 6:42AM, police responded to the 14700 block of Winding Lp in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 39 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was getting out of her vehicle when she was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The man took the victim’s wallet and car keys before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported. Officers located the victim’s car keys nearby. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Bank Robbery – On December 4th at 2:20PM, police responded to the Cardinal Bank located at 13870 Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the bank, approached the counter, and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the bank and getting into a vehicle. No injuries were reported and no weapon was seen.

Suspect Description:

White male, between 20 and 30 years of age, 6’2”, 200lbs with a thin build and unshaven face

Last seen wearing a blue or green varsity style jacket with white sleeves, a blue baseball style cap, blue jeans, sunglasses, and was carrying a tool bag

Armed Robbery – On December 4th at 10:37PM, police responded to the 2900 block of Wythe Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 66 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was had just exited her vehicle and was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a handgun and grabbed the victim’s purse. The victim attempted to resist the suspect and was assaulted. The man took the victim’s purse and fled on foot before getting into a vehicle. Minor injuries were reported.

Suspect Description:

Black male, between 35 and 40 years of age, 6’0”, 135lbs with a thin build and dark complexion

Residential Burglary – On December 4th at 6:34PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of Nexus Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:15PM and 6:00PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Jewelry and other property, total value around $480, were reported missing. While investigating this incident, the homeowner also advised that his home was burglarized on December 2nd which was not initially reported to police. On that date, around 5:00AM, the homeowner reported that he heard noises coming from another area of the home. When the homeowner checked the residence, he discovered the front door was wide open. No suspect(s) were located in the home. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Miscellaneous property, total value around $350, was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Cruelty to Child Investigation – On December 5th at 1:33AM, police responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of Briar Rose Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a possible child neglect. The victim, a 6 year old girl of Woodbridge, called police that she woke up and discovered that her mother was not home. Initially, the child dialed random numbers until she made contact with someone who told her to call 911. Officers arrived at the home and were unable to locate the child’s mother. The victim was brought to the police station where she remained until a family member could be contacted. At 2:55AM, the child’s mother, identified as the accused, called police to report her child missing. The investigation revealed that the accused had reportedly left the residence around 11:00PM. The accused returned home and called police after she was unable to locate her daughter. The victim was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. The victim was released to the custody of another family member.

Malicious Wounding of a Correction Officer – On December 3rd at 11:50PM, police responded to the Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault involving a Corrections Officer. The investigation revealed that the accused had been arrested earlier in the night for unrelated charges of intoxication in public and resisting arrest. During processing, the accused became combative and bit a Corrections Officer on the thigh, breaking the skin. The officer received medical treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Residential Burglary – On December 5th at 6:35PM, police responded to a residence located in the 14900 block of January Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00PM on November 26th and 6:35PM on December 5th. Entry was made into the home through a window which was forced open. A TV of unknown value was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Malicious Bodily Injury by Caustic Substance – On December 6th at 12:01AM, police responded to the 8000 block of Portwood Turn in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The victim, an 18 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was standing next to a vehicle speaking to another acquaintance when the backseat passenger, identified as the accused, lower the window and sprayed him with pepper spray. Following the encounter, the vehicle left the area. The victim knew the accused and both parties had been involved in a previous dispute. The victim sustained minor irritation as a result of the pepper spray. The accused was located at his residence where he was arrested without further incident.

The victim, a 33 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the back of the head with an unknown object. The victim was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm | Filing a False Police Report – On November 23rd at 5:35PM, police responded to Veterans Park located at 14300 Veterans Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The victim, a 23 year old man of Woodbridge, initially reported to police that he was jogging through the park when he encountered an unknown man who attempted to rob him. During the encounter, the victim stated that the man displayed a handgun and shot him. The victim was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. No property was reported stolen. Detectives from the Robbery Unit conducted an investigation and discovered inconsistencies in the initial reporting of the incident by the victim. Detectives eventually learned that the victim was not robbed and that he had shot himself in the park. Following the investigation, the victim, now the accused, was arrested on December 5th.

Malicious Wounding – On December 7th at 9:35PM, police responded to Sentara Hospital to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred at the Kleber’s Restaurant located at 13634 Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge (22191).  The victim, a 35 year old male of Woodbridge, reported to police that he had a verbal argument with an unknown male which escalated to a physical altercation.  During the altercation the male struck the victim several times in the face and head with a hammer.  The victim sustained significant, but non-life threatening injury, to his face, head and arm. The accused departed the area prior to police arrival.  Investigation continues.

Residential Burglary – On December 6th at 9:12AM, police responded to the 13700 block of Kaywood Drive in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary.  The burglary was reported to have occurred on December 1st between 9:00AM and 7:00PM.  Entry is believed to have been made through the front door by a known acquaintance that had access to residence.  Miscellaneous jewelry and a video game, valued around $770, were reported as missing.

 

 

 

Commercial Burglary – On December 6th at 7:42AM, police responded to the Car Doctor Auto Center Incorporated, located at 13512 Minnieville Road in Woodbridge (22192), for a burglary. The burglary was reported to have occurred between December 5th at 6:30PM and December 6th at 7:20AM. Entry is believed to have been gained through an unsecure garage door.  Miscellaneous tools and a computer, valued around $13,800, were reported as missing.

 

 

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 7th at 2:12AM, police responded to the 12200 block of Stevenson Court in Woodbridge (22192) for an attempted burglary.  The attempted burglary was reported to have occurred between November 30th at 4:30AM and December 7th at 1:30AM. It is believed that unknown person(s) attempted to gain access through an unsecure rear door that was blocked.  It did not appear that the person(s) gained access into the residence.  No items were reported as missing.

Strangulation| Domestic Assault & Battery – On December 8th at 3:55PM, police responded to the 1400 block of Deerfield Lane in Woodbridge (22191) for the report of a domestic assault. The victim, a 21 year old female of Woodbridge, reported to police that she had a verbal dispute with a known acquaintance, later identified as the accused, which escalated to a physical altercation. During the altercation the accused allegedly hit, pushed and strangled the victim.  Minor injuries were reported.  The accused was taken into custody without incident.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Residential Burglary – On December 9th at 1:04PM, police responded to the 14100 block of Rockinghorse Drive in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary.  A witness reported to police that an unknown person had broken a neighbor’s window and entered their residence.  When police responded they found a male juvenile still inside the residence.  The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently released to a family member.  No items were reported as missing. Charges are pending further investigation.

 

Residential Burglary – On December 9th at 1100AM, police responded to the 13900 block of Hedgewood Drive in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary.  The burglary was reported to have occurred between December 5th at 11:59AM and December 6th at 11:00AM. There were no signs of forced entry. Entry is believed to have been made with key access through a secure door. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported as missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement [LEO] | Resisting Arrest – On December 8th at 10:13PM, police responded to 17300 block of Mine Road in Dumfries (22026) for a report of disorderly conduct.  When police arrived at the above location they encountered the accused, identified as Antoine Ingram. The accused approached officers in a combative manner and attempted to strike an officer with his fist.  The accused fell to the ground when the officer blocked the strike.  Officer’s had to use physical force to control the accused in order to apply handcuffs.  The accused was subsequently arrested without further incident.

Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement [LEO] | Malicious Wounding – On December 6th at 2:16AM police responded to the 4100 block of Granby Road in Woodbridge for an assault.  The victim, a 41 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he had a verbal altercation with a known acquaintance, later identified as the accused, which escalated to a physical encounter.  During the encounter the accused stabbed the victim in the arm.  After the encounter, the victim departed from the above location and contacted police.  The victim suffered a non-life threatening stab wound to the arm.  The accused was later located at the above location.  When police encountered the accused he became agitated, aggressive and pushed an officer.  The accused then refused to comply when he was told he was under arrest.  The accused was then escorted outside the residence where he became compliant and was arrested without further incident.

Malicious Wounding | Burglary – On November 26th at 4:08AM, police responded to a residence located in the 8500 block of Somersworth Dr in Manassas (20111) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that an altercation had ensued between the victim, a 27 year old man of Manassas, and a known male acquaintance. The male acquaintance had forcibly entered victim’s residence to confront him about a previous incident. Following the encounter, the suspect fled the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his arm and back. At this point in the investigation, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

The investigation revealed that the driver, and only occupant of a 2013 Chrysler 200, was traveling southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy in the above area when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the embankment.  The driver of the vehicle was pronounced at the scene.  The driver’s identity will be released when positively identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Investigation continues.

Felony Hit & Run – On December 11th at 6:50AM, police responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Rosedale Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate the report of a crash.  The investigation revealed that the victim, an adult male of Woodbridge, was walking in the above area when he was struck by a vehicle, later identified as an early model 1990’s Ford Ranger truck.  The victim sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was flown to an area hospital where he is currently being treated. The striking vehicle left the scene prior to police arrival and was last seen traveling southbound on Jefferson Davis Highway. The investigation further revealed that the vehicle may have sustained front end damage and is missing a rearview mirror and a windshield wiper as a result of the crash.  Investigation continues.

Burglary – On December 10th at 2:08PM, police responded to the 18200 block of Graham Ct in Triangle (22172) for a burglary.  The burglary is reported to have occurred between December 7th at 12:00PM and December 10th at 2:00PM.  Entry appeared to have been made by breaking the lock on a secure window.  Miscellaneous electronics, televisions, cell phones and computer, valued around $1,480, were reported as missing.

Following the investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested without incident.

Burglary – On December 10th at 11:01AM, police responded to the 13900 block of Hedgewood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for an assault.  The victim, a 76 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that a known acquaintance, later identified as the accused, was banging on the walls and yelling loudly in the hallway of an apartment building.  When the victim opened her front door to investigate the noise the accused allegedly pushed his way into the residence and grabbed and pushed the victim, prior to departing from the residence.  The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident.  The accused was located in the building by police and arrested without incident.

Death Investigation – On December 12th, following an autopsy, investigators have reclassified this incident as a death investigation. The investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a crash in which his vehicle left the roadway however an autopsy performed this morning revealed no signs of trauma from the crash or foul play. Detectives have confirmed the identity of the victim as the man reported missing from Seat Pleasant, MD on Monday. The investigation continues as investigators await toxicology results from the Medical Examiner’s Office.

 The victim has been identified as Frankie Neal STEWART, 57, of Seat Pleasant, MD

   

Crash – Fatality [Previously Released]On December 11th at 7:17AM, police responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Blackburn Rd for a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver, and only occupant of a 2013 Chrysler 200, was traveling southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy in the above area when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the embankment.  The driver of the vehicle was pronounced at the scene.  The driver’s identity will be released when positively identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Abduction | Strangulation – On December 11th at 6:12PM, police responded to the 12700 block of Dara Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault.  The victim, a 28 year old female of Woodbridge, reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, entered her residence without permission and refused to leave.  It was further reported that while the accused was inside the residence, he took the victim’s cell phone, punched the victim in the face, choked her and refused to let her leave the residence.  After a physical altercation, the victim was able to leave the residence and report the incident to police.  The accused fled from the scene prior to police arrival.  Minor injuries were reported.

Attempted Armed Robbery – On December 12th at 1:24AM, police responded to the 7-11 convenience store located at 13940 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery.  The victim, a 56 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that while working in the store she was approached by two unknown men which entered the store with their faces covered and holding hand guns. The men demanded money and, when the victim was not able to open the register, both men fled from the store. No injuries were reported.

Suspect Description:

Black male, between 18 & 22 years of age, 5’8”, 180lbs with medium build

Last seen wearing black pants, black coat, gloves and a multi colored scarf around his face

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 11th at 4:30PM, police responded to 11500 Arrington Ct in Manassas (20112) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported that an unknown person(s) attempted to gain access to the residence between December 5th at 11:00PM and December 6th at 1:00PM.  While pry marks were found on a door of the residence, it did not appear that entry had been made into the residence. No items were reported as missing. 

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Possession of a Fire Bomb or Explosive Device – On December 11th at 10:30PM, a citizen brought a suspicious device into the lobby of the Eastern District Police Station located at 15948 Donald Curtis Dr in Woodbridge (22191). The citizen, identified as a 34 year old woman of Dumfries, located a suspicious device in a backpack in her son’s bedroom at their home and brought it to the police station for officers to investigate. Due to the appearance of the device, it was removed from the station to a remote area of the parking lot for safety. The Fire Marshals’ Office and the Virginia State Police, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team responded and determined that the device was inactive. Following the investigation, the son, identified as the accused, was arrested.
