**UPDATES**

 

Armed Robbery | Assault & Battery *ARREST – On December 13th, detectives from the Robbery Unit arrested the suspect involved in the robbery reported at the 7-11 located at 12125 Dumfries Rd in Manassas on October 15th. The accused also had an active warrant for an unrelated charge of grand larceny in Prince William County and a separate warrant for another jurisdiction. On December 12th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit and members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Forestdale Ave. During the execution of the warrant, the accused attempted to flee out of a rear second floor window but was apprehended by waiting detectives. Marijuana and other evidence were recovered as a result of the search. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.

Charged with 1 count of robbery, 1 count of malicious wounding, 2 counts of grand larceny auto, 1 count of receiving stolen goods, and a fugitive from justice warrant for an out of state jurisdiction

Armed Robbery | Assault & Battery [Previously Released]On October 19th at 3:07AM, police responded to the 7-11 located at 12125 Dumfries Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a robbery. An employee, a 54 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that an unknown man entered the store and approached her. The man struck the victim to her head with a metal pipe and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

 

**INCIDENTS**

 

Residential Burglary – On December 12th at 7:02PM, police responded to a residence located in the 18100 block of Purvis Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 7:00PM. Entry was made into the residence through a rear door which was forced open. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Armed Robbery – On December 13th at 8:05PM, police responded to Sally’s Beauty Supplies located at 13920 Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Suspect Description:

Black male, between 34 & 40 years of age, 5’10”, 150lbs with a thin build, unshaven face, brown hair and brown eyes

Last seen wearing a black jacket, dark colored jeans, and a blue & gray stripped beanie

 

Residential Burglary – On December 14th at 3:00AM, police responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Quantico Terrace Dr in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that at around 2:30AM, he awoke to the sound of someone in his apartment. The homeowner discovered an unknown man in this living room who immediately fled on foot. No injuries were reported. A cell phone, gaming console, games, and related equipment, total value around $330, were reported missing.

Male, unknown race, between 18 & 25 years of age, 5’8”, 150lbs with a thin build

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 13th at 8:47AM, police responded to a residence located in the 14300 block of Belleville Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she awoke to the sound of her dog barking. Upon checking the home, the homeowner discovered an unknown man trying to enter the residence through a rear door. The homeowner immediately called police and the suspect fled the area in an older model, 4-door sedan. No injuries were reported and no property was reported missing.

Male, unknown age or race – no further description

**ARRESTS**

 

Attempted Murder | Burglary while Armed – On December 14th at 4:14AM, police responded to a residence in the 11000 block of Wooldridge Dr in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary and shots fired call. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 23 year old man of Manassas, and a female acquaintance, were walking out of his residence when they observed an armed male figure approach them. The victim immediately closed the door and began running down the hallway with the female when the man forced open the door to the home and began firing towards the victim. Once the man was inside the home, the female immediately identified the suspect as the accused, a known acquaintance. She was able to deescalate the situation and convince the accused to leave the home. At that point, another occupant of the home contacted police. As officers were arriving, the accused attempted to flee in a vehicle but was subsequently stopped and arrested without further incident. The firearm used in the incident was recovered. No injuries were reported during the encounter. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Attempted Rape – On December 13th at 6:13PM, police responded to the 14500 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a sexual assault. The victim, a 19 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and a male acquaintance were walking into the HH Gregg when an unknown man ran up to them. The man’s pants were down to his knees as he approached the victim. Once close enough, the man picked up the victim and took her to the ground where he then got on top of her. Multiple witnesses intervened to get the man off of the victim. Officers arrived at the location and detained the man, identified as the accused. The victim was not injured during the altercation. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Felony Child Neglect – On December 15th at 1:47PM, police responded to the Wal-Mart located at 9401 Liberia Ave in Manassas (20110) for a found child. The investigation revealed that the victim, an 8 month old girl, was found sitting in a stroller inside the store by another customer shortly after 1:30PM. The customer alerted staff after they were unable to locate a parent or guardian. Store employees made multiple announcements in an attempt to also locate a parent or guardian. After a short time, store employees contacted police. Officers arrived at the store and began speaking to store employees. A few minutes later, the parents of the child, identified below, approached officers to claim the victim. Following the investigation, both parents were arrested. The child was not injured during the encounter.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Suicide – On December 16th at 11:07AM, police responded to the 8000 block of Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) after receiving reports that a man was on fire behind the shopping center in the above area. The man, identified as the victim, was flown to an area hospital where he died later that evening. Detectives from the Homicide Unit investigated the incident and determined that the injuries were self-inflicted in the victim’s attempt to kill himself.

The victim has been identified as Lane Kevin COOPERRIDER, 50, of Manassas

 

Residential Burglary – On December 17th at 10:30PM, police responded to an apartment located in the 1200 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM and 9:00PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Miscellaneous property, total value around $112, was reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On December 16th at 6:49PM, police responded to a residence located in the 13900 block of Ruler Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on December 15th and 5:00AM on December 16th. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry was made into an attached garage through an open door. A masonry saw, valued around $1,800, was reported missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On December 16th at 4:06PM, police responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Elm Farm Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:20AM and 3:20PM. Entry appeared to have been made through a kitchen window which was broken out. A gaming console, iPhone, iPod, and jewelry, total value around $8,300, were reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On December 17th at 2:30AM, police responded to a residence located in the 14900 block of Feeder Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 35 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted and choked the victim. Another party was able to separate the two parties. Minor injuries were reported. The accused was not immediately located after the incident. Later that morning, Stafford County Sheriff deputies located and the arrested the accused.

Narcotics Investigation – On December 16th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a three month narcotics investigation involving the distribution of heroin with the execution of multiple search warrants in Manassas City and Prince William County. Detectives discovered that the accused was transporting large quantities of heroin from New Jersey to Manassas where he would then distribute them to local communities. Detectives executed search warrants at 9261 Byrd Dr and 9334 Witch Hazel Way in Manassas City and at 10933 Cattail Ct in Prince William County. As a result of these searches, heroin, a handgun, medications, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Rape | Abduction – On December 17th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 15600 block of William Bayliss Ct in Woodbridge (22191).  The investigation revealed the victim, a 42 year old woman of Woodbridge, was sexually assaulted on several occasions by the accused, a known acquaintance.  The investigation further revealed that on one occasion the accused abducted the victim.  After the abduction the accused fled from the area. Investigation continues.

Armed Robbery – On December 18th at 3:27PM, police responded to the 7/11 convenience store located at 13304 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery.  An employee of the store reported to police that an unknown male entered the store, walked behind the counter and sprayed the clerk with pepper spray prior to taking an undisclosed amount of US Currency and cigarettes.  The male then fled from the store prior to police arrival. No injuries were reported.

Commercial Burglary – On December 16th at 2:02AM, police responded to McKay Used Books located at 8345 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) for a burglary.  An employee reported to police that the burglary occurred at 1:28AM when he was alerted to an alarm activated at the business. The employee responded to the business and found that two unknown males, identified via video surveillance, had gained entry to the business by breaking the glass on the front door of the business.  The males fled from the scene prior to the employee’s arrival.  Miscellaneous video game systems, video games and DVD movies, valued around $2070, were reported as missing.

Residential Burglary – On December 17th at 6:31PM, police responded the 5000 block of Lynwood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM and 3:15PM.  Entry appeared to have been made by prying open a secure door to the residence. Miscellaneous electronics, clothing and shoes, valued around $1150, were reported as missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On December 17th at 4:51PM, police responded to the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:10AM and 6:15PM on December 16th. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecure window.  Jewelry, a camera and miscellaneous electronics, valued around $920, were reported as missing.

 

Residential Burglary – On December 16th at 8:23PM, police responded to the 5600 block of Shoal Creek Way in Haymarket (20169) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:30PM on December 14th and 1:00AM on December 15th when an unknown person(s) entered the garage that is attached to the residence through an unsecure garage door.  While inside the garage the person(s) entered the homeowner’s vehicle and removed a purse. It did not appear entry was made to the residence.  A purse containing miscellaneous items, valued around $960, was reported as missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 16th at 9:17PM, police responded to the 2800 block of Gloucester Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that between 8:00PM on December 13th and 8:00AM on December 15th and unknown person(s) attempted to gain access to the residence by prying open a secure door to the residence.  It did not appear that access was made to the residence.  No items were reported as missing.

Armed Robbery – On December 17th at 1:41PM, police responded to the 14100 block of Cove Landing Dr in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery.  The victim, a 15 year old male of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was approached by the accused, a known acquaintance and a friend of the accused, an unknown male, while walking in the above area.  The unknown male allegedly grabbed the victim while the accused presented a handgun and demanded money.  Both men relieved the victim of an undisclosed amount of US Currency and cell phones prior to releasing the victim and fleeing from the area.  No injuries were reported.  Investigation continues.

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On December 17th at 4:56PM, police responded to the 10100 block of Farragut Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault.  The victim, a 12 year old female juvenile of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated.  During the encounter, the accused assaulted and choked the victim.  The accused and the victim were ultimately separated by another party.  Minor injuries were reported.  The accused was arrested without incident.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Bank Robbery – On December 19th at 2:23PM, police responded to the BB&T Bank located at 5844 Mapledale Plaza in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery.  Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the bank, approached the counter and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of US Currency before fleeing from the bank in an unknown direction.  No injuries were reported and no weapon was seen.

 

                Suspect Description:

 

                White male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 6’0”, 180lbs with a medium build

 

Last seen wearing a dark green sweater, a dark color baseball cap, sunglasses, blue jeans and carrying a white plastic bag with black writing

 

 

 

Armed Robbery – On December 19th at 9:40AM, police responded to the Express Pharmacy located at 1690 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery.  Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the pharmacy, displayed a handgun and ordered the employees to get on the ground before taking a large amount of medications and fleeing the area on foot.  No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

                White male, unknown age, 6’5”, 230lbs with a heavy build

 

Last seen wearing sunglasses, a blue hoodie style sweatshirt, camouflage pants and gloves

 

 

 

Crash | Prince William County School Bus – On December 19th at 8:11AM, police responded to the area of Waverly Farm Dr and Dominion Valley Dr in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a crash involving a Prince William County School Bus.  The investigation revealed the school bus driver attempted to change lanes and side swiped another vehicle while driving in the above area. The bus was occupied with juvenile passengers.  Minor injuries were reported for one passenger. Investigation continues. 

 

 

 

Residential Burglary – On December 19th at 7:30AM, police responded to the 17000 block of Silver Arrow Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigation a burglary. The investigation revealed the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on December 18th and 7:00AM on December 19th.  There were no signs of forced entry.  Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecure door. A generator, valued around $675, was reported as missing.

 

 

 

**ARRESTS**

 

 

 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Gang Participation – On December 18th  at 3:37PM, police responded to the parking lot of Manassas Mall located at 8326 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 16 year old male juvenile of Manassas, was struck in the face with a baseball bat by the accused during a physical altercation which occurred among multiple male subjects. The accused fled from the area prior to police arrival, but was later located and subsequently arrested without incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation further revealed the incident was gang related.

**UPDATES**

Rape | Abduction *ARREST – On December 20th the accused was arrested in regard the sexual assault from December 17th which was reported to have occurred in the 15600 block of William Bayliss Ct in Woodbridge (22191).

Charged with rape and abduction  Court date and bond information unavailable  

Rape | Abduction (Previously Released) – On December 17th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 15600 block of William Bayliss Ct in Woodbridge (22191).  The investigation revealed the victim, a 42 year old woman of Woodbridge, was sexually assaulted on several occasions by the accused, a known acquaintance.  The investigation further revealed that on one occasion the accused abducted the victim.  After the abduction the accused fled from the area. Investigation continues.

         **INCIDENTS**

Crash–Fatality | Hit & Run – On December 22nd at 7:11PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Occoquan Rd and Vineyard Wy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that a pedestrian was crossing Occoquan Rd near the intersection of Vineyard Wy at the same time the driver of an unknown vehicle was travelling northbound on Occoquan Rd. The driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrian and left the scene prior to police arrival. The pedestrian, an adult male, died at the scene as a result the injuries sustained during the collision.  Investigation continues.

Crash – Felony Hit & Run – On December 21st at 2:00PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Sudley Rd and Lomond Dr in Manassas (20109) for a crash.  The investigation revealed that the driver of a white Ford pick-up truck was travelling northbound on Sudley Rd passing Lomond Dr when the driver had to make a sudden stop due to traffic.  The driver of a 1995 Ford Ranger was also travelling northbound behind the Ford pick-up truck and was unsuccessful in avoiding a rear end collision with the truck.  The Ford Ranger was then rear ended by the driver of a 1990 Chevy Prism. The driver, and only occupant, of the Ford Ranger was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The driver, and only occupant, of the Chevy Prism was flown to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.  Investigation continues.

                White Ford F150 style pickup truck with rear bumper damage and green paint transfer

 

Last seen driven by a white male in late 20’s or early 30’s in the area of Sudley Rd and Sudley Manor Dr in Manassas

 

 

 

Malicious Wounding – On December 21st at 12:58AM, police responded to the area of Caloosa Wy and Madrigal Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a firearm violation. The investigation revealed that the victim, an 18 year old male of Alexandria observed multiple unknown males arguing in the above area.  During the argument, gunshots were fired by an unknown person(s) and the victim was struck in the leg by a bullet.  The victim was later transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released with a non-life threatening injury.  This does not appear to be a random incident. Investigation continues.

 

 

Strong Armed Robbery – On December 21st at 10:32PM, police responded to the 4100 block of Acadia Dr in Dumfries (22025) for a robbery.  The victim, a 58 year old man of Dumfries, reported to police that while parking his vehicle in the above area he was approached by two unknown males who demanded money.  The males fled the area when an unknown citizen driving by the above area stopped to render assistance. No injuries were reported.

Residential Burglary – On December 23rd at 1:46AM, police responded to the 2700 block of Winston Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary.  The investigation revealed that while the homeowners were asleep an unknown male entered the residence through a basement window, proceeded to the second level of the residence and attempted to enter the bedroom of the homeowner.  The homeowner was awoken by footsteps in the residence and confronted the unknown male when he attempted to open the bedroom door. The male then fled from the residence and was gone from the area prior to police arrival. Entry appeared to have been made by prying open the basement window. No injuries were reported. No items were reported missing.

 

 

 

Residential Burglary – On December 21st at 4:05AM, police responded to the 4500 block of Blue Jay Ct for a burglary.  The investigation revealed that the homeowner heard a loud noise in the basement area of the residence.  When the homeowner investigated the source of the noise he found that an unknown person(s) had entered the basement and damaged the wall inside the basement.  The person(s) was not able to gain access to the main area of the residence and fled prior to police arrival. Entry appeared to have been made by breaking a sliding glass door in the basement.  No injuries were reported.  A television, game console, miscellaneous video games and a football, valued around $1445, were reported as missing.

 

 

 

Residential Burglary – On December 20th at 7:30PM, police responded to the 10600 block of Shaeffer Ln in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a burglary.  The investigation revealed that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM on December 19th and 6:50PM on December 20th.  There were no signs of forced entry.  Entry is believed to have been gained through an unsecure pet door. Two guitars, valued around $1100, were reported as missing.

 

 

 

Residential Burglary – On December 16th at 6:49PM, police responded to the 13900 block of Ruler Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary.  The investigation revealed that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on December 15th and 5:00AM on December 16th.  There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.  Entry is believed to have made only into the unsecure garage attached to the residence.  Two masonry saws, valued around $1890, were reported as missing.

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On December 21st at 4:10AM, police responded to the 11200 block of Golden Leaf Cir in Manassas (20109) for an assault.  The victim, a 31 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she had a verbal argument with the accused that escalated to a physical altercation.  During the encounter the accused allegedly grabbed and choked the victim.  It was further reported that a second victim, an 11 year old female juvenile, was also assaulted by the accused when she attempted to separate the parties.  Both victims sustained minor injuries during the altercation. Crash – Fatality – On December 23rd at 11:36AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 17800 block of Mine Rd in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a motorcycle crash. The investigation revealed that the operator of a 2002 Yamaha 250 motorcycle was riding on an open field in the above area when he lost control and struck guide wires attached to a utility pole. No other vehicles or persons were involved. The operator returned to his residence where he died from apparent internal injuries later in the day.

Residential Burglary – On December 25th at 8:59AM, police responded to a residence located in the 13000 block of Lashmere Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00AM and 8:30AM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured window. A purse and wallet containing miscellaneous property were reported missing.  

 

Commercial Burglary – On December 24th at 6:46PM, police responded to a construction site located at 15001 Heights Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. Construction crews reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:30PM and 6:46PM. Entry was made into a storage unit on the property after the lock was cut off. Copper wire, valued around $14,000, was reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On December 23rd at 9:40AM, police responded to Car Doctor located at 13512 Minnieville Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:00PM on December 21st and 7:30AM on December 23rd. There were no signs of forced entry into the business. Three laptops and other property, total value around $2,900, were reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 25th at 3:32AM, police responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of Veronica Ln in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he was in the basement area of his home when he heard a noise coming from an upper level floor. Upon checking the residence, the homeowner discovered an unknown man standing on his deck. The man immediately fled on foot after being noticed by the homeowner. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. The homeowner was unable to describe the suspect.

Malicious Wounding | Burglary with Intent to Commit Assault – On December 21st at 12:35AM, police responded to a residence located in the 7400 block of Willoughby Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 30 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, forcibly entered his residence and assaulted another occupant of the home, a 23 year old woman of Huntley VA. Following the assault, the accused left the residence. Responding officers were able to locate the accused and detain him without further incident. The victim sustained significant, but non-life threatening injuries to her face and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Felony Child Neglect | Hit & Run – On December 22nd at 2:45AM, police responded to the area of Sudley Rd and Crestwood Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic dispute. The victim, a 35 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was driving in the area above when he was struck from behind by the accused, a known acquaintance. The accused repeatedly struck the victim’s vehicle with hers before fleeing the area. The victim and the accused were previously involved in a dispute which led to this incident. While investigating, officers learned that at the time if the incidents, the accused had her two children, ages 7 and 5, in the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officers from the Fairfax County Police Department located the accused at her residence in Reston. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Armed Robbery – On December 26th at 9:28PM, officers responded to the Days Inn located at 16925 Old Stage Rd in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in one of the rooms. The victim, a 21 year old woman of Colonial Beach VA, reported to police that she met up with an unknown man in one of the rooms at the above motel. During the encounter, the man displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim. At that point, a struggle ensued between the victim and the suspect. Following the altercation, the man fled the room on foot. Minor injuries were reported. This incident does not appear to be random.

A resident of the apartment reported to police that between 12:00PM on December 20th and 7:00AM on December 23rd, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the residence through a window which was forced open. Upon checking the apartment, the resident observed an unknown man hiding behind a table. The resident ordered the man to leave the apartment. Once the man left, the resident immediately called police. Responding officers located a man matching the description in the area of Darbydale Ave and Welsh Ln. The man was identified as the accused and was determined to have been the intruder in the burglary. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. No property was reported missing and the accused appeared to have entered the apartment through a sliding glass door.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Crash – Fatality – On December 11th at 4:22PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Neabsco Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a pedestrian involved crash. The investigation revealed that a pedestrian was crossing Neabsco Rd just down from the intersection with Jefferson Davis Hwy when, for an unknown reason, he changed directions in the middle of the roadway and began walking towards the intersection. At the same time, the driver of a 2010 Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on Cardinal Dr approaching the same intersection. The driver had a green light to proceed across the intersection from Cardinal Dr onto Neabsco Rd. As the vehicle crossed over the intersection, the driver struck the pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was flown to an area hospital where he died on December 27th. Alcohol and drug use and speed are not factors on the part of the driver. The pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol and was not in a designated crosswalk at the time of the collision.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On December 29th at 1:38AM, officers responded to the 4100 block of Merchants Plz in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that a large fight had occurred inside the Los Toltecos Restaurant which then progressed into the parking lot. During the encounter, multiple shots were fired by an unknown individual(s). The fight dispersed prior to police arrival in the area. No injuries were reported.

 

Residential Burglary – On December 27th at 2:56PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Masthead Tl in Triangle (22172) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he arrived home and discovered the rear door to the residence was open. The homeowner further noticed an unknown man standing on a path behind his home. As the homeowner went to confront the man, he fled on foot. No property was reported missing from the home.

 

**ARRESTS**

     

Attempted Malicious Wounding of a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On December 28th at 2:00PM, officers responded to the K-Mart located at 2851 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) for a shoplifting. As officers were pulling into the parking lot, a security officer for the store pointed towards the suspect. One of the officers exited his cruiser and attempted to approach the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect, later identified as the accused, quickly got into his vehicle and accelerated forward, nearly striking the officer. The vehicle exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed and continued on Dale Blvd then onto southbound I-95. Due to a traffic backup, the accused drove the vehicle onto the shoulder, striking multiple construction barrels and two occupied vehicles. Officers lost sight of the vehicle as it continued on I-95. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained against the accused. On December 29th, the accused turned himself into police without incident.

Felony Child Neglect | Providing a False Identity to Law Enforcement – On November 26th, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit began an investigation into an alleged child neglect which was initially reported to have occurred at a residence on Crest Dr. Through the investigation it was discovered that the offense actually took place at a home in the 14300 block of North Park Ct in Woodbridge (22193). The investigation revealed that the accused left her child, a 9 month old boy, on an adult size bed unattended. The child then fell off of the bed causing an injury to her leg. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. During the initial reporting of the incident, the accused used another family member’s identity. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on December 27th.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Shooting – On January 1st at 2:14AM, officers responded to the 10100 block of Shiloh Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived in the area and located the victim, a 31 year old man of Manassas, on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the victim and a known male acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation inside a home in the above area. The argument proceeded outside of the residence and escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a shotgun and shot the victim in the leg. Following the shooting, the suspect left the area. A witness reported to police that the suspect was last seen getting into a 4-door, silver Honda and fleeing the area. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the accused. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful. This incident was not random.

The victim, a 21 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was struck by a bullet. Following the incident, the victim was driven to an area hospital by friends where police were contacted. The victim sustained a non-life threatening wound to his lower body. No suspect information could be provided to officers. This incident does not appear to be random.

Felony Hit & Run – On January 1st at 6:37PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of River Heritage Dr and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a hit & run. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 10 year old girl, was walking with her family on the sidewalk adjacent to River Heritage Blvd when the driver of a pick-up truck left the roadway, drove up onto the sidewalk, and struck her. After striking the victim, the driver continued, leaving the roadway a second time at the corner of Jefferson Davis Hwy and River Heritage Blvd. The vehicle was last seen driving north on Jefferson Davis Hwy. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. No description of the driver was provided to investigators.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On January 1st at 3:18PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12100 block of Chaucer Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shooting into a dwelling. The homeowner reported to police that at around 11:00AM, she was cleaning her apartment when she discovered, what appeared to be, two bullet holes in a skylight window. The homeowner stated to police that she heard a noise around 12:30AM that morning but didn’t discover the damage until later in the day. No injuries were reported.

The resident reported to police that she was sleeping in her bedroom when she awoke to an unknown man going through her dresser. Once discovered, the man fled on foot. Entry appeared to have been made into the home through a window. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 1st at 6:10AM, officers responded to the area of Myrtlewood Dr and Avenel Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a crash. During the investigation, officer arrested the driver of one of the vehicles for driving under the influence. After the driver was arrested, a passenger of the same vehicle, attempted to get to the driver who was in the backseat of a police cruiser. That passenger, after ignoring multiple requests from the officer, was arrested for disorderly conduct. As that passenger was being arrested, a second passenger, identified as the accused, exited the vehicle and approached the officers. During the encounter, the accused kicked one of the officers and attempted to push past him. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was also arrested. No injuries were reported.

Residential Burglary – On January 2nd at 5:07PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14500 block of General Washington Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:00PM and 4:00PM on December 31st. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through a side basement level door. A drill, valued around $90, was reported missing.

**INCIDENTS**

Crash – Fatality – On December 25th at 22:15PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 10300 block of Burwell Rd in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver, and only occupant, of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was traveling southbound on Burwell Rd when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and then an embankment before striking a second tree. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was partially ejected. The driver was flown to an area hospital where he died on January 3rd. Alcohol, drug use, and speed are not factors in this crash.

Residential Burglary – On January 5th at 3:24PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00AM and 2:30PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. Laptop and network routers, total value around $860, were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On January 5th at 9:24AM, officers responded to A-Plus Wigs and Hair Beauty Supply located at 14230 Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:45PM on January 4th and 9:24AM on January 5th. Entry was made into the business through the front glass door which was broken out. Hair products, total value around $8,000, were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On January 5th at 12:36AM, officers responded to Cosmopolitan Professional located at 14473 Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an alarm. Officers arrived at the business and discovered the front glass door was broken out. A police K-9 was used to check the business. No suspects were located. Hair products, total value around $2,200, were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On January 4th at 7:36AM, officers reported to the Sally Beauty Supply located at 8395 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate an alarm. Officers arrived at the business and discovered the front glass door was broken out. No suspects were located inside the business. Hair products, total value around $4,200, were reported missing.

 

Commercial Burglary – On January 4th at 2:41AM, officers responded to Sally Beauty Supply located at 13920 Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an alarm. Officers arrived at the business and discovered the front glass door was broken out. A police K-9 was used to check the business. No suspects were located and no property was reported missing. Officers reviewed security footage which showed an unknown man, described below, had entered the business.

Residential Burglary – On January 3rd at 8:30AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15400 block of Leeds Hill Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:40PM on January 2nd and 7:30AM on January 3rd. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made into an attached garage through an open door. Multiple gaming consoles, valued around $1,200, were reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 2nd at 12:18PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3400 block of Scelzi Ct in Triangle (22026) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that at around 11:00AM she was inside her residence when she observed an unknown man attempting to enter her residence through a rear window using a ladder. Once discovered by the homeowner, the man fled. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. Officers checked the surrounding neighborhood. No suspect was located.

Rape | Abduction with Intent to Defile – On January 2nd at 8:17PM, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 12000 block of Coverstone Hill Cir in Manassas (20109) on January 1st. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Manassas Park, reported to police that she was attending a party at a residence in the above area when she was sexually assaulted by the accused who was also attending the same party. The victim is known to the suspect. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on January 3rd without incident.

Malicious Wounding – On January 2nd at 5:21AM, officers responded to the 12300 block of Timberlane Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 20 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she was giving the accused, a known acquaintance, a ride home when the two became involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, slammed her head onto the vehicle’s dashboard. The victim was able to stop the car in the area above and run to a residence where the homeowner to called police. The accused fled the area on foot and was not initially located. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused. The accused was eventually arrested on January 6th.

Residential Burglary | Conspiracy to Commit a Felony – On January 2nd at 1:06AM, officers responded to the 3400 block of Beaumont Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he had just arrived home and heard voices coming from within the residence. The homeowner immediately called police and responding officers set up a perimeter around the neighborhood. Two male suspects, both juveniles, were located within the home and subsequently arrested. The suspects gained entry into the home through a side window which was forced open. No property was reported missing from the home however numerous valuables were located in pillow cases within the residence. During the investigation, officers learned that two other suspects were involved in this burglary. One of the suspects, Joseph GARCIA, was identified as the suspect that planned the burglary while a second suspect, Endashaw TESFAYE, drove both juvenile suspects to the residence to commit the offense. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for both suspects who both reportedly reside in Maryland.

The accused was identified after he allegedly pawned property which was reported stolen during the incident. The accused was arrested at his residence on Schaeffer Ln without incident.

Armed Robbery *ARRESTS – On January 7th, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified and located the two suspects involved in the robbery reported in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge on January 6th. The investigation revealed that GRAHAM was the suspect that committed the robbery while REYES was the driver of the vehicle that both men fled in following the incident. Both suspects were arrested without incident at address on Bertram Blvd in Stafford.

The accused was not at the above location when the search was conducted.  Following the investigation, additional warrants were obtained against the accused.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Malicious Wounding – On January 9th at 11:48PM, officers responded to investigate a stabbing which was reported to have occurred at an unknown location in Woodbridge. The victim, a 19 year old man of Haymarket, reported to police that he and two of his friends arranged to meet another acquaintance at a location in Woodbridge. Once there, the acquaintance was accompanied by another male suspect. During the encounter, the victim was stabbed in the upper body. The victim’s friends drove him to an area hospital where police were contacted. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening. This incident is not random and the investigation continues.

 

Residential Burglary – On January 9th at 4:52PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3300 block of Cape May Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:30AM and 3:30PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Child Pornography Investigation *ADDITIONAL CHARGES – On January 10th, members of the Northern Virginia-DC Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained additional warrants in regard to the ongoing investigation into child pornography involving the accused. During a forensics examination of a phone belonging to the accused, a total of 25 images of child pornography were recovered. Following the investigation, the additional warrants were served on the accused at the Adult Detention Center.

Child Pornography [Previously Released] On September 4th, members of the Northern Virginia-DC Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force continued an investigation into child pornography with the execution of a search warrant at 74 Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22026). The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cybertip in regard to online communication involving the accused and child pornography.  The investigation revealed that the accused was in possession of child pornography via a social media account. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident. The investigation continues.

 

Crash – Fatality – On January 9th, the driver of the 2013 Nissan Sentra involved in the serious crash which occurred in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Mt. Pleasant Drive in Woodbridge on January 7thdied at an area hospital. Investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit are still working to determine the cause of the crash. The investigation continues.

The driver of the 1998 Honda Accord was identified as a 23 year old man of Woodbridge 

 

Serious Crash [Previously Released]On January 7th at 6:49PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Mt. Pleasant Drive in Woodbridge (22191) for a crash.  The investigation revealed the driver of a 2013 Nissan Sentra was southbound on Jefferson Davis Highway at the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Drive in the left turn lane.  The driver turned into the travel path of a 1998 Honda Accord travelling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway.  The driver of the Honda Accord was not able to avoid a collision and struck the Nissan Sentra on passenger’s side of the vehicle.  The driver of the Nissan Sentra was ground transported to an area hospital.  The driver of the Honda Accord sustained minor injuries.  Investigation continues.

Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the store and approached the counter. Once there, the man implied he had a weapon and demanded Oxycodone. The man took the medication and fled on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On January 11th at 12:56AM, officers responded to the McDonalds located at 10730 Balls Ford Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 49 year old man of Centreville, reported to police that he was inside the restaurant when he got up to use the restroom. Upon returning to his table, he observed an unknown man attempt to walk away with his laptop computer. The victim confronted the man, who was with a group of other males, and a physical altercation ensued. One of the men held the victim down, while another assaulted him. An employee heard the commotion and contacted police. The group dispersed prior to police arrival in two separate red sedans. Minor injuries were reported.

Assault by Mob – On January 11th at 2:08AM, officers responded to Brittany’s Restaurant and Sports Bar located at 12449 Dillingham Sq in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault.  The victim, a 31 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was involved in a verbal argument with four unknown men, while inside the establishment.  The encounter continued out to the parking lot where the victim was allegedly assaulted by the group. The men fled from the area prior to police arrival.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  The victim did not provide descriptions of the suspects to police.

 

Residential Burglary – On January 10th at 7:31AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6300 block of Cullen Pl in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00PM on January 8th and 8:00AM on January 9th. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured basement window. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 11th at 2:01PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1400 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary.  The resident of the apartment reported to police that between 9:00AM and 12:00PM, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the residence through a secured door.  It is believed the door was unlocked with a key and pushed opened however no entry was made into the apartment and no items were reported as missing.

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On January 12th at 7:00PM, officers responded to the Global Foods located at 10320 Festival Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 46 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was an employee of the store and was collecting shopping carts in the parking lot when he was approached by three unknown man. The men demanded the victim’s property and money and when he refused, one of the men assaulted him. Following the assault, the men dispersed and fled on foot. Minor injuries were reported. Officers were in the area at the time and were able to quickly apprehend one of the suspects, identified as the accused. The remaining two suspects were able to get away. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Shooting *ARRESTS – On January 13th, the accused suspect involved in the shooting investigation which occurred in the 10100 block of Shiloh Ct in Manassas on January 1st turned himself into police without incident.

David Jamar MOORE, 25, of 2636 El Dorado Rd in Fayetteville, NC

Charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Shooting [Previously Released] On January 1st at 2:14AM, officers responded to the 10100 block of Shiloh Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived in the area and located the victim, a 31 year old man of Manassas, on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the victim and a known male acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation inside a home in the above area. The argument proceeded outside of the residence and escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a shotgun and shot the victim in the leg. Following the shooting, the suspect left the area. A witness reported to police that the suspect was last seen getting into a 4-door, silver Honda and fleeing the area. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the accused. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful. This incident was not random.

 

Malicious Wounding *ARRESTS – On January 13th, detectives from the Robbery Unit made multiple arrests in regard to the stabbing investigation which occurred on January 9th. The investigation revealed that the offense took place in the 3200 block of Wyndale Ct in Woodbridge (22192). The investigation further revealed that the accused, Paul AZRE, had made arrangements to meet with an unknown female in the above area to conduct a transaction. While walking to the area, AZRE encountered an unknown male, later identified as the victim, Samuel HESSENAUER. At that point, the victim displayed what was believed to be a handgun and attempted to rob AZRE. This encounter led to a physical altercation between the two men. During the altercation, AZRE pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. Detectives were further able to identify known acquaintances of the victim who were determined to have been involved in the robbery. Following the investigation, all parties were arrested in connection to their involvement in this case.

The victim, a 19 year old man of Haymarket, reported to police that he and two of his friends arranged to meet another acquaintance at a location in Woodbridge. Once there, the acquaintance was accompanied by another male suspect. During the encounter, the victim was stabbed in the upper body. The victim’s friends drove him to an area hospital where police were contacted. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening. This incident is not random and the investigation continues.

Residential Burglary – On January 13th at 7:23AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a reported burglary in progress. The resident reported to police that she awoke to a noise coming from another area of the apartment. Upon checking the apartment, she observed an unknown man in her kitchen. The resident immediately went back to her bedroom and contacted police. The suspect fled prior to police arriving at the residence. Officers set up a perimeter around the neighbor and a police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. A laptop and wallet, total value around $440, were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 13th at 10:47AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4600 block of Prather Pl in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that at around 12:03AM, she was asleep and awoke to a noise coming from another area of the home. Later that morning, she observed pry marks on a rear door and called police. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

Aggravated Sexual Battery | Indecent Liberties –On January 9th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 7700 block of Black Forest Ct in Manassas (20109). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 14 year old girl of Gainesville, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, on more than one occasion between October and December of 2013. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on January 13th without incident.

Abduction with Intent to Defile | Attempted Rape | Aggravated Sexual Battery – On January 12th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit and Fairfax County Police responded to investigate an abduction and sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in Fairfax County and at an address in the 8000 block of Ashland Ave in Manassas (20109) on the evening of January 11th. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 17 year old girl of Falls Church, was abducted from her residence in Fairfax County by the accused, a known acquaintance. The accused then drove the victim to his address on Ashland Ave where he forced her inside and sexually assaulted her. Once the accused fell asleep, the victim was able to flee the residence and contact police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on January 13th without incident.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Burglary while Armed – On January 13th, detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau responded to investigate a stabbing which was reported to have occurred in the 14400 block of Watson Dr in Woodbridge (22193). The victim, a 43 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that accused, a known acquaintance, approached her as she was nearing her residence in the above area. The victim and accused then got into a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the victim attempted to enter her residence, at which point, the accused forced his way inside and stabbed the victim multiple times. The victim was taken to an area hospital where police were called. The victim sustained significant but non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Carnal Knowledge | Indecent Liberties – On January 13th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 8800 block of Teakwood Ct in Manassas (20109). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 13 year old girl of Manassas, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, on more than one occasion between October of 2013 and January of 2014. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on January 13th without incident.

Malicious Wounding | Petit Larceny – On January 12th at 5:56PM, officers responded to the Marshalls at Potomac Mills Mall located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cl in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault and larceny. The victim, a 36 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was with the store’s loss prevention and had observed an unknown woman enter the store and steal merchandise. The victim confronted the woman in the parking lot. During the encounter, the victim attempted to retrieve the stolen merchandise which led to a struggle. At that point, the woman pulled away from the victim and bit his hand. The woman was able to get in a vehicle and flee the area. Before doing so, she dropped the property taken from the store. All merchandise reported missing was recovered and minor injuries were reported. Officers were able to identify the woman as the accused. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Assault and Battery –On January 11th at 11:51PM, officers responded to the Down Under Bar located at 301 Mill St in Occoquan (22125) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that an employee, a 39 year old woman of Stafford, and another person, a 59 year old man of Woodbridge, attempted to remove two customers, identified as the accused suspects below, from the establishment. During the encounter, one of the suspects, Shamun MAHMUD, displayed, what the male victim believed was a knife, and attempted to stab him. At the same time the second suspect, Christina WILLUT, assaulted the female victim, striking her in the face. Minor injuries were reported. Upon further investigation, the knife the male suspect had was determined to have actually been a key. Following the investigation, both accused suspects were arrested without further incident.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On January 14th at 9:52PM, officers responded to the area of Point Pleasant Ln and Naples Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an attempted robbery.  The victim, a 24 year old man of Dumfries, reported to police that he was approached by two unknown males while walking in the above area.  One of the men punched the victim in the face and then demanded the victim’s bag.  After the bag was checked it was returned to the victim who was then punched in the head by the second man. Both men fled the area on foot prior to police arrival. No injuries were reported.

Black male, between 16 & 18 years of age, 6’0, black hair, brown eyes

Residential Burglary – On January 14th at 1:59PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14500 block of Piccolo Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary.  The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM and 1:50PM.  Entry was made into the residence through a window which was broken out.  A television, several computers, and miscellaneous jewelry, total value around $3,450, were reported missing.

 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 14th at 5:31PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary.  The resident of the apartment reported to police that between 4:00PM on January 13th and 4:30PM on January 14th, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the residence through a window. The window was secure and no entry was made into the residence. No property was reported missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Burglary | Possession of Burglarious Tools – On January 15th at 2:16AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 2000 block of Horizon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary.  The investigation revealed that the resident of the apartment was awoken by a pet alerting to a sound at one of the windows. The resident contacted police who arrived at the above location to find the accused attempting to gain entry to the residence through a secured window.  The accused was taken into custody by police after a brief foot pursuit.  No entry was made into the residence and no items were reported as missing.

Narcotics Investigation – On December 5th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation involving the distribution of marijuana with the execution of a search warrant in the 11000 block of Koman Cir in Manassas (20109).  During the search, marijuana was located and the accused was arrested without incident. This arrest was previously held for investigative purposes.

**INCIDENTS**

 

Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery – On January 16th at 12:54AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred in the 10400 block of Stonington Ln in Manassas (20109) around 10:39PM on January 15th. The victim, a 17 year old male of Manassas, reported to police that he was in the above area when he was approached by two known male acquaintances.  During the encounter, the males punched the victim in his face, searched his pockets, and kicked his head after he fell to the ground.  Both males fled the scene when the encounter was interrupted by a family member of the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital where police were contacted. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. This incident does not appear to be random.

Suspect Descriptions:

2 Black males, both reported to be between 16 & 18 years of age, 5’10”-5’11”, 160lbs with thin builds, black hair, and brown eyes

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 15th at 10:45AM, officers responded to the 17300 block of Nugent Ln in Dumfries (22026) for an initial report of a shooting into an occupied dwelling.  The homeowner reported to police that she and a visitor heard a loud sound believed to be a gunshot outside of the residence.  After hearing the sound, the homeowner reported that an unknown male approached the front door, rang the doorbell and then departed the area on foot.  When police arrived, they found a window on a door leading to the residence had been shattered by what appeared to be a rock. No shooting took place. After police checked the area they departed, but were called to return back to the same residence at 11:47AM when the homeowner was alerted by the sound of an unknown person(s) outside of the residence.  When police returned they again found a broken window on a door leading to residence; however, it did not appear that entry had been made. No injuries were reported and no items were reported as missing.

Black male, unknown age, 6’1”, 160lbs with a thin build, black hair, and brown eyes

Residential Burglary – On January 15th at 8:06PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12400 block of Eden Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary.  A resident reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:30AM and 5:30PM. Entry appeared to have been made by breaking a window to the residence. Miscellaneous jewelry and an undisclosed amount of US Currency, valued around $4,100, were reported as missing.

 

**ARRESTS**

 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Attempted Armed Robbery – On January 15th at 7:35PM, officers responded to the 18000 block of Triangle Shopping Plz in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a stabbing. Officers arrived in the area and located two men, identified as the two accused suspects below. One of the men, Deontae JONES, was suffering from a stab wound to the leg. While investigating this incident, a third man, identified as the victim – a 31 year old man of Woodbridge, walked into an area hospital with a stab wound to the arm related to the same incident. The investigation revealed that the victim was inside the McDonalds in the above area when he was approached by the other two men. All parties are known to one another. During the encounter, JONES displayed a knife and swung it towards the victim, cutting him in the arm. The victim fled the McDonalds as both suspects chased him. While running, JONES continued to swing the knife and inadvertently stabbed himself in the leg. The victim was able to get away from the suspects. After stabbing himself, JONES and the other suspect, Daryl WILSON, called 911. All injuries sustained were non-life threatening. Following the investigation, both suspects were arrested.

Residential Burglary – On January 15th at 12:51PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4500 block of Torrence Pl in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary in progress.  The investigation revealed a citizen observed two unknown males, later identified as the accused suspects below, entering a neighbor’s residence through a basement window.  Officers arrived on scene quickly while the men were still inside the home. Both men were arrested without incident as they attempted to exit the residence through the front door. The homeowner was not at the residence at the time of the incident.  No property was reported as missing.
